it’s worse than the war crime apologia really, in call of dutys, when no one can ever speak without always sticking their face in yours and making direct eye contact to show off the creepy soap opera acting facial animation technology nonstop
got Donut County because people I know offline recommended it. It was kind of fun but empty. Geneva Hodgson is quite talented and her work on this was charming even if the actual play of it was not. Since it’s about four years old now I can’t tell if this is an origin for those terrible hole.io type games I see mobile ads for or a commentary on those games.
Soundtrack was good. A good soundtrack will make me forgive a lot. It kept me coming back to skateBIRD despite how frustrating it was. Found something called Nonograms Prophecy. It does not wrap the picross in a visual novel like I’d kind of hoped but the puzzles are nice. It feels like all the nonogram games aside from the big N’s picross have pretty bad UI, but I am a sucker for this stuff the way some people are for pokemon type games.
I started Clair Obscur and repeatedly got my ass kicked by a mime, good game
Only have time for one mission in Ace Combat but this one was a doozy. You have three different operations happening at once, so you have to pick which one to start, then truck on over to the next ones, and sometimes a thing will happen in another operation so you have to speed on over. Or another operation is down to their last few tanks so you have to support. It’s very stressful sometimes! I had originally chosen the Mirage for this mission because the A-10 was so slow, but I eventually switched back because you can get 4 ground targets at once.
Targeting is really weird in that sometimes it will target what’s in front of you and sometimes you have to constantly hit the Y button to switch between targets until the one in front is picked. I wish this game was more clear on how close things are in range. Sometimes there’s just a ton of targets overlaid on top of each other.

I played Sonic 2 for my birthday and asked Yuji Naka to give me a Jackpot in Casino Night Zone and it immediately happened.
been speedrunning excitebike 64
set 11 personal best times since november 8th, and 8 of them were also new world records
there’s some pretty strong competition lately, too, which helps a lot.
in a fit of ill-advised optimism, i started up new games in both Dragon Quest XI and Bloodborne yesterday and deleted them pretty much immediately after getting out of bed today
may you find your worth in the waking world
Having plugged my ps3 back in I was immediately confronted with “what am I gonna play on this thing?”
So I loaded up an 11 year old, 4 hours in, save of Time and Eternity. Game owns. The battle system is involved and also only wants you to win. There’s dozens of little systems for getting stronger I do not understand.
If I remember correctly I was trying to play this mainlining the story trying not to succumb to lethal Anime Poisoning. Which this game has. It is a Saturn game that fell into a wormhole and was dumped out 20 years later.
Doing Fetish Calculus that the game is primarily about the fiance now trapped in a dragon’s body constantly denied seeing and touching naked women. It is less aggressively assault than say City Hunter. It is more like Harpo Marx, an imp who only has the idea of sexuality and thinks it must be the best thing but is completely ignorant. Still he DESIRES it. And is denied at every single turn.
Like a lot of these, you ignore that and it is remarkably PG and tame. Just keeps butting its head in while The Girls plan a wedding and lampshade every story-beat in the way this level of Anime-Product does.
Having jumped into my save from years ago I do not understand any of the systems, but also I like playing games this way. I return to a bit of my history and usually without resources drag myself back to comptency. Which is better than a thousand tutorials.
Oh yeah with this setup I should be able to move my FFIX save to the MemCardPro2 and then to the Mister and continue that game from the start of disc 2!
I’m also nearing the end of SaGa finally, but that deserves its own essay honestly.
I caught a Latias in White 2. I don’t know why I’m still playing it. Ok, I guess I do: I want to level another pokemon or two. But probably just one. I thought it was going to be my Sigilyph and Arcanine, but I have a Delphox in Pokemon X and that’s obviously better, so it’s just the Sigilpyh and Zoroark that are going to come over to future teams (possible just the Ultra Moon boss rush post game, which I guess implicitly is going to have a Sigilyph, Zoroark, and Delphox, and I’m not sure what else. Luxray from Pokemon Pearl is a candidate. A Lucario is pretty much a given. And then I guess one pokemon actually from Ultra Moon, to be nice. Decidueye is both the starter pokemon and offers the best coverage given everything else. It’s weird to me that I’d have no water type with this team but it would probably still work)

there’s dark souls messages
pitch pot is where you get drunk and try to throw arrows in a jar
you can read a poem to generate a character
argument duels. there are two gift of gab modes, rhetoric duel
and free persuasion, where you just argue with an ai chatbot. there’s also just npcs you talk to that are chat bots and you have to do things like cheer them up because they’re an incel wandering martial artist, encourage a guy to keep fishing even though they’re not catching anything, convince some guy you’re not in the area for nefarious purposes etc.
oh, that totally flew under my radar, thanks for the heads-up
… ans who’d have thought that Elvis, the ol’ gamer nerd, would nail it so fittingly:
“Wow, there’s so few pieces written about Stray Children online! I wonder if I can find anything insightful on youtube…”

I wish I could banish the word “slop” from the Gamer Lexicon
I chose to focus more on the comment itself but actually the 1 like : 0 dislikes ratio almost did me more emotional damage in the end…
I guess serves me right for searching for any level of generosity in the youtube comments section ![]()
Reinstalled Diablo 4 after a year to have something brainless to play instead of reinstalling Wow for the first time in a six years. I’m replaying the main campaign as the new class and then I will go into the expansion campaign assuming I stick through it.
ive been mentally playing every castlevania game and playing vampire survivors a lot. in the developer interview in castlevania chronicles on ps1 IGA is wearing a chrome hearts longsleeve in like 2002 and hints at wanting to make a castlevania 3 remake if castlevania chronicles does well
i thought juste belmont was a composer because of his outfit. i knew he was magic but I thought he was like a Beethoven type of guy too. there wasn’t a single belmont who was like a freemason rosicrucian celebrity? benjamin franklin belmont?
every character on the castlevania wiki now has a big vampire survivors section. i feel like that says something about what castlevania is about… like it’s about The Truth and the cycle of empire and love always beats evil. you use heart symbols to refill your magic
i want to play a castlevania with sion sono’s Love Exposure on the moodboard
games you saw being played today:
staying at a friends place this weekend, so of course it’s time to test a few titles/showcasing the new toys/SW for them.
after explaining Sonic ×worlds for a while, moved on to Humanity, which has a relaxing vibe to it that i really dug. Barking at humans before they jump into endless pits is somehow very relaxing, idk why!
Dave Ze Daivör’: friend of mine has been using a pretty mint savestate, and somehow i got bored after 30 seconds already, don’t care-term has been invented for this.
Tempest Rising: seems to have got the C&C vibes spot-on/right, even if i’ve never played C&C Generals (which supposedly feels closest to this compared to the other C&Cs). Will buy in next sale < 30 bucks!
Thought I would replay Thief Gold in my project to play through the LGS and LGS adjacent games, but yeah you really are just hanging out with so many undead and monster enemies. The thievery aspect is super undercut in this one. I think I’ll just skip to Thief 2, which I’ve never played before.
The highs of Thief Gold are really high. And even the less good levels have good stuff in them. But I really can’t help myself from bunnyhopping around non-human NPCs, and there are just so many levels where those are the only enemies you encounter. And I don’t want to get to Escape! and Into the Maw of Chaos just to play Strange Bedfellows.
