Around these parts? Skyrim.

Some may call this junk. Me? I call them it treasures.

I friggin’ love Skyrim.

I love the Elder Scrolls in general. No other western fantasy RPG has as rich lore as TES.

Also that modding scene is like catnip for the dysmorphic/dysphoric segment.

i like castlevania 3 and the witness

It’s possible that Arena is my favorite Elder Scrolls game, actually. I…was surprised how much I got sucked into that game.

It is a weirdly interesting game. It’s so hard to put a finger on how exactly it differs from say, Eye of the Beholder or Dungeon Hack or what have you, but it just somehow manages to feel completely different

SB is not and has never been the place i get pushback for this take, but Shadow Tower is the best game ever developed and it is still considered “that bad King’s Field spinoff with no BGM” even by ostensible From fans

Some people really hate it, but I love the Pikmin series. I love seeing what all my little buddies are up to even if they’re just tilting their heads or scratching their temples. I love the tiny trademarked items that get recontextualized as monuments and Olimar’s scientific conjecture thrown in.
Pikmin 3 is the best one and so perfectly attuned to the WiiU that I’m sad it can’t be exactly recreated on the Switch.
I especially love Bingo Battle mode. Throwing Mario Kart items into a MOBA-adjacent format is hilarious. The existence of the Victory Macaron is all the proof I need to know that Nintendo has good ideas. For one month, I played that everyday with someone who I would marry three years later. It needs to become an esport.

I remember XIII getting mildly positive reviews in European publications! I’d say it was in the 7/10 range. “Interesting but flawed” territory, which makes it prime sb material, really. I liked it. It wasn’t no NOLF but it was cool.

The French should make hella more videogames than they do

Shadow Hearts 2 rocked my world when it came out but I never managed to get back into it. Tried recently. The battle system is just too much work for grown up me. But hell yeah, I love it and no one else seems to care about it

Silver was an awesome FF7-like and I loved it to bits. Played through it probably three times, one or two of those with my cousin. We had a great time. People either didn’t care about it or knocked it for being unoriginal

Dark Earth.

That Top Gun PC game. It got rather bad reviews but I loved it. There was a sequel I never played. Wonder what that was like

Wing Commander 5. Yeah, it exists and I liked it

no joke, Kirby: Planet Robobot is the reason I didn’t sell my 3DS after Pokemon Moon

edit: is there any way to make a response into a normal post?

Shadow Hearts 2 is great but yeah I never did finish it either. As good as it is and improved over 1 in a lot of ways, the silliness of it compared to the first game made it a little less compelling.

You know, this thread makes me realize that I haven’t been heavily into a videogame with all my heart and soul since I was like 15 or so. That is so sad. I wish I still had this deep, creative, inspiring connection with games.

Yeah I mean that’s what I liked about it… I never played the first one. I guess it was just too long, as JRPGs usually are

I fuckin’ love Jazzpunk. I fell in love with it when I got to play a level of it before release in a dark George Brown College computer lab. I remember being sad when my PC stopped being able to run it, only for the game to later be released on PS4 with a fleshed-out version of Wedding Qake. I love it so damned much.

I’ma download it again and play it tonight

SA is bad with 60-80 minutes of game padded out the wazoo with nonsense like Tails, Big and Amy

SA2 is also bad but at least it gets to the point

Sonic didn’t get good again after 3 until Rush

I remember having 10X more fun with Chaos Legion than any Devil May Cry game, and people on forums in like 2004 would cook me for it.

Densha de Go nagoya tetsudouhen and densha de Go ryoujouhen are by far the best ones and I just know there are like 12 people on earth who would be extremely mad at me for thinking that.

deep water aka The Simple 2000 Series Vol. 54: The Taikai Kemono is like in my top 10 ps2 games and loki, the only other human being I know who has played it, didn’t like it that much, does that count

Uhh OK a real one is oblivion I guess.
