What’s your favorite thing to put in? I was a monster who frequently ordered frozen tofu. The freezing created big air pockets and it was essentially an edible sponge, a sponge filled with hot oil.

blood cubes but they didnt have them. hot pot city in milpitas is my favorite becuase its just a buffet where you get everything from. this had more dim sum style ordering (three rounds) but that makes me so self concious

frozen tofu does have an insanely fun texture im with you on that one

I guess I’m in my ~cucumber era~ because I’ve gone deep into making various versions of spicy or Asian cukes. Today I veered off of that briefly to make sliced cucumber salad with cream cheese, smoked salmon, capers, and everything bagel seasoning.
I still have a pack of mini cukes to make a gochujang Korean salad later this week. It’s so easy and so delicious I can’t believe I haven’t been doing this for years. Growing up my parents would often slice up cukes and drizzle em with bottled Italian dressing as a side during dinner and it was always just so good and refreshing.

In conclusion, I just love cucumbers.

have you tried squashing them?

Oooo, no, does that make a big difference?

It’s def., like, noticeable. Worth a shot for one gripped in cucumber mania.

For the little mini ones I don’t pre-cut, just like smash em whole with my palm.

Also, in a similar vein to the classic smashed method above, if you’ve not tried, I also like slicing thin and then generously salting, letting them sit for like 20 minutes, then coming back and taking them all in your hands and squishing them real hard.

A cuke craves abuse.

I’ll def make that recipe next, thanks!

After I slice and salt and let em sit, i end up eating like a quarter of them when they are just nice and salty and crisp before rinsing and adding any sauce. Can’t get enough.

The boys now have alternating soccer schedules (mon-wed and tue-thu) so weeknight cooking will become impossible. I have obtained a slow cooker and embark on a new era…

Banana peppers are so good!

Chopped Italian sub/hoagie Salad is a trend right now. So the cold cuts, cheese, Lettuce, banana peppers are all chopped up and then the dressing is added. I haven’t tried it yet because I’m skeptical i could eat it all before it got gross.
