i have seen a few times in the past, even before the remake, the idea that aeris might actually be a massive jerk, but it just doesn’t come through in the original game’s writing very well

the post-church escape stuff and the sector 5 scrapyard music are like, videogame things I will be thinking about a lot for the rest of my life…maybe final fantasy 7 was always good. need to play more but ive been busy watching movies where willem dafoe lays pipe and playing dynasty warriors instead

final fantasy 7 was always good and this would be have been more recognized if it had received a decent localization to start with.

finished this today & for all the howling online i was pleasantly surprised? i mean i was expecting incoherent flying bishounen nomura nonsense & wow it delivered on that 
but i love how this sets them up to do whatever weird shit they want after this.
i have some Feelings about how explicitly this rejects the environmental doomerism of the original but fuck if isn’t a moment where i can use some fucking optimism lol
plus now advent children isn’t canon!
