They still got like 3 weeks they could push back the release again.
that’s why there is a CRUNCH bar right there, 100% Real
So the demo for this is now out on PSN…
Couldn’t find it earlier on the 4’s psn store, but quickly through a web browser and dl’ed. Was about to sleep…admittedly too curious, time to peep luster.
yo i just played the demo and it’s going to be the best game of the decade
Punisher Mode
Aside from Barrett’s va being too much at nearly all times, dug it.
Combat is better than I expected! Obviously a lot more grounded, smoother than the aerial blinkfests of XV. Hope they maintain and develop those environment and enemy placement mechanics over the main game, a solid way to rein this type of free movement ATB from becoming too loose.
Finding better times to guard seemed difficult but that’s probably just a starting thing and being prone to slashin’…most everything else was easily navigable, flowed well.
Running through the reactor with a floating 3rd person cam and new big orchestra bgm, dazzling as the engine is I really hope they eventually try referring back to more of the classic camera work in some manner, some occasional synth at the very least. Notable atmosphere being put through the grinder.
oh my god
yes!!! boarding the hype to midgar now
does the demo have japanese VA? the english voices in the trailers are really intolerable
urgently need to know if gackt is canon
I hoped and checked and was about to say nope, but then found out…you can apparently change the PS4’s system settings to Japanese and the demo’s voices will change while the text remains eng. No in-demo selection, no JP store download needed.
I’m okay with, could almost like the idea of some old school hyper acting here, somehow channeling 90’s anime dub but a lot of its so exuberant it clashes with the weight of everything else happening on screen.
im impressed this runs well on a base ps4
agree combat is better than anticipated (tho honestly my expectations were very, very low) but the boss was a fuckin’ drag
I was pretty darn sure this would be a decent enough revision of FFXV to carry its preposterous weight
combat feels like an odd combination of XV and XIII and it works better than it should
really digging the FFXV 2.0 combat, feels like they paid attention and centralized the RTwP system of FFXV in wait mode.
Disappointed in the lack of outright ecoterrorism, instead turning it into Shinra smearing innocent incrementalists with a false flag operation
My biggest complaint about the scorpion fight was how I couldn’t re-equip the Thunder materia onto Cloud, and instead had to keep switching back and forth between Cloud and Barrett just to zap the thing. Once the full game lands and we’re free to switch things around like that, I think that fight should go a little smoother
I think the changes make sense in the context of fidelity. The remake exists in a more physical world with a lot more people – so an action Avalanche takes that kills thousands of people in streets the player’s walked through is a lot more heinous than an action represented in a quick movie and a move through two deserted streets.
I think the emotional impact and moral balance is trying to calibrate to the same level, under a different story.
