FGC##201Xrd Reload[st] - Now on Steam! (Part 1)

Six buttons standard for fightman sticks is nice. As much as I love the sticks I have and the flexibility of 8 buttons, I am bothered by the buttons I don’t use.

The Dreamcast version went further, with shitloads of Dramatic Battle options, and less strict RAM limits allowing three different characters in a fight, though I think limits where imposed if there were more than three characters in a fight.

so uh

has anyone at all been able to play a single online Street Fighter match today because I haven’t

Can’t say the betas didn’t warn us.

I played a few earlier, though I imagine that there was relatively less congestion at 11am GMT. I also managed to fumble together a game with someone on here (who’s new username I forget (used to be CONSUME_PRODUCTS)) in spite of the game’s horrible menus making everything nigh-on impossible to work properly.

In searching for ranked games, I managed to play the exact same person twice in a row.

Getting matches was actually pretty regular for me a few hours after launch. Getting through a match without one side disconnecting not so much so. Don’t seem to be getting anything right now sitting around in training mode though.

I was getting salty yesterday when SFV’s Metacritic score was in the high 90s despite launching while missing so many features, but now it’s in the low 80s so I’m ok.

When online features do work, I am having lots of fun air grabbing an endless wave of Ryu’s (and whoever else I can) with R Mika’s wingless airplane and cancelling their fireballs with her V Trigger :shuffle:

The development for this was incredibly rushed, so yeah you’re absolutely right.

Other games I am legally soul bound not to mention calibur also five had this exact same thing happen. They didn’t have the cinematics in place for Story Mode, so the thing that went in was the artist’s placeholder art.

Guess why these drawings kinda suck.

Also I am Malloc on this game fight me

I’m ‘dongle’.

This game is fun despite being hideous. I wish Capcom would commit to an illustrative style and do it right, instead of … whatever they attempted with sf4 and sf5. Part of the reason the storyboards-as-cutscenes seem so jarring is that they don’t at all fit the art style of the rest of the game. If SF5 generally had Xrd-style, then the sketched interludes would be ‘stylish and cool’, at least in my eyes.

I like how each story mode is legit just three 1 round battles. and the difficulty is very easy and probably not adjustable. karin’s story isn’t even anything, and it ends with Sakura showing up and they’re like LETS FIGHT LOL and then it ends because whoops Sakura isn’t in this game yet.

Mike Z is busy screaming about how they screwed up the PS3 controller support by tying it to signed-in PS4 controllers again.

F.A.N.G. is cool as hell

e: my FIGHTER ID is botoggle

I’m ‘KarnovsRevenge’

‘jaihson’ if you want to fightman Karin’s standing medium kick.
How can dictator feel so slow yet kill you so fast? Never want to push any buttons against that jerk.

I bothered by the fact that literally all the music in the game is in 4/4

Since there is a music selection option (at least for the main menu music) I’m hopeful that classic soundtracks will show up for purchase in the shop eventually.

Not that I have anything to say about any fightman, but your PS4s can play music over games, either MP3s (USB drive or network source) or Spotify

I’m sure I’ll mostly just end up muting the game and playing my own music

but if they put in SF2 and Third Strike music I’d be all over it. the SF2 stuff is kind of a no-brainer, so I’m mildly confident we might see that, but I could really go for some 3S music, man.
