Do you honestly think they’ll do that though
I don’t know why you guys care about bad NRS games. Revelator just came out.
Keeping my hopes up that Revelator’s PC release is not far off. But yeah, I should know better by now.
As “product” Revelator isn’t quite perfect. No dub and I’ve already seen some flubs in the story mode like no subtitle for a voice that wasn’t in a text box and a character’s mouth not animating while she was talking.
Has there been any word that there will not ever be a dub to (possibly) be patched in? There’s been a few times I wish I didn’t have to read subtitles so I could look at some background details.
Oh really, no dub? That’s surprising. I thought they’d keep it up with this iteration since they did it for Xrd.
I’m waiting until my local Gamestop or Target stocks it before I can play ;_;
Marathoned and finished Revelator’s story. Gotta say, I am very satisfied it. Really feels like they wrapped up the main plot that the series has been dragging along for a long while. There’s enough left over that I’m sure they could make more stuff with and plenty of B plots to touch on but if there wasn’t going to be any more GG story content in the world I could live content with that fact.
(oh wow, I never thought about that homophone before, language is weird)
GOT THAT REVELATOR!
I was watching story mode but I didn’t know pressing the PS button doesn’t pause the game, so I missed like 15 minutes of it. What happens in the beginning after the summary of the last game? When I went back to the game, Zappa was talking to someone about his Zappa Scale or something?
Oh dang, I didn’t know you could just pause it. Why did they animate all this when it’s just a glorified radio drama?
yeah don’t do that please
Because we like seeing the characters do things. Even mundane things.
I didn’t know the premise behind the events of Guilty Gear was so lovey dovey
My teenage self would be a little disappointed.
Wait wait wait, Zappa appears in Revelator? Great, that gives some hope he’ll make it to Xrd at some point.
Looks like Injustice with a nicer color palette and worse character designs.
I hope for Tawky Tawny so that we can just have Bloody Roar inside of Injustice 2.
Zappa is actually one of the main supporting characters in Revelator’s story. He’s, uh, a lot more important than, like, Hehyun, actually.
Revelator story mode feels a lot like ASW suspect they’re not going to be able to justify the costs of another sequel for a while, so they wrap up the “main plot” pretty darn cleanly and leave a lot of other plot threads in weird psuedo-limbo.
Yeah, character playability doesn’t mean a lot in story mode. Like Potemkin, who doesn’t do a lot in -SIGN- story. He… was in a interrogation room with Bedman and nothing else if I remember right. The Zepp side was basically Grabiel. Which is fine, Gabriel is cool.
Anyway, hope they are not wrapping things up because this is the last one in a while. Guilty Gear is my favorite series in the genre, the one that really got me to fighting games. It would be sad to see it go again.
PD: Guilty Gear wrapping up a story… who knew I was going to see the day.
Rev got a lot of points from me for having a mostly conclusive ending. When was the last time a fighting game story had one of those? Granted I haven’t played any NRS games which I heard had pretty fun story modes.
Though I’m a little disappointed by the lack of a 90’s power ballad friendship montage.
Also kind of wonder if they had other plans for Haehyun in story mode. Didn’t really get much opportunity to sell his/her character to the viewers. At least Sign gave us stuff to see what Elphelt, Ram, Leo and Bedman were like as the new characters on the select screen.
I like that they made Haehyun a moe Korean girl just to appeal to fans of that kinda thing, but for every intent and purpose in the story, it’s just a burly kindhearted old man. If you only watched the story mode, you’d have no idea there was a girl inside him, which sounds weird to write out now that I look at it.
It’s a very interesting cross-section of taste.
Boo at wagering being back.
It bugs me a bit that Hehyun is almost completely uninvolved in the main plot, considering how she’s an ALL NEW PLAYABLE CHARACTER and how important the console characters in Sign turned out to be, but, oh well.
