yeah, some die hards would’ve stuck with it in dwindling numbers, it would pop up every now and again in the discord fighter age just like now, only less so, and the community likely would eventually soft ban phoenix. I’m not sure what the point of that is.
just gonna keep taunting us and never making another project justice.
had to sate curiosity about how my boy is in sf5, fortunately that cost very little on steam (like a tenner for base game + the character)
seems like he has some very high damage and easy to execute tengu punish stuff and is likely not a bad character, but they’ve changed so many little things about his mobility, button and cancel properties it only makes me glum
will keep watching the tech developments but none of this is enough to actually get me to play sf5
Yeah I caught Baf playing with him. He looks solid and it is mad that he’s back, but he seems a little off, maybe a little stiff and things like him not turning after a double jump over the other character. You would know best, he was never a proper main for me.
I haven’t played 5 for ages, I was going to get back into it for Oro but yeah, I think I’m done for now.
they erased Oro’s nipples so fuck SFV
It’s canon that his nipples didn’t sprout until new generation fyiiiii
Third Strike had a revision that fixed unblockables for Oro and Urien, suggesting that Capcom worried those characters were broken. That version also served the basis for the Dreamcast port. Then people realized Oro and Urien were mid-tier at best and needed those unblockables to get anywhere, and Capcom based all future ports of 3S off the original revision. Rare case of a fighting dev going back on a balance patch.
I’m starting to understand exactly why geist disliked playing against I-No. Reacting to I-No’s high-low mixups (and relatedly, Millia’s high-low/left-right mixups) are one of the only things in Strive that makes me think “welp I guess the only way to beat this is to react faster to what’s happening on the screen”.
Is that actually true though? I mean I feel like it would be humanly feasible to with enough practice, but this is just not a very fun thing to practice. Can people recommend anything like option selects I’m not aware of? (I’m playing May if that’s relevant.)
I’ve reached my limit in Virtua Figther - lvl 25. Can just about cling on with a few characters but will never progress beyond here.
Beat a person called SEGA-forever and wanted to cry.
it’s not, most of her shit is fake. I still suck against it because you have to really practice to know that and be comfortable with dealing with it, and you’re still gonna get blown up if you block low most of the time, which is always going to be instinct for me. sonic sol has a good video on her pressure:
I think the #1 lesson anyone should learn with FGs is “I’m not fast enough to react” is rarely the case. What seems to be fast reaction time is usually just player knowledge built up over dozens of hours of playtime.
And ya grinding shit out and losing probably isn’t fun for most folks but most FGs rely upon knowledge checks rather than twitch skill checks.
Input lag does matter though, I take a disgusting amount of joy in seeing top players who spent most of their playtime on PC Strive failing to block shit on PS Strive. Anyone who’s ever beaten me on a laggy HDTV owes me a rematch.
the bigger problem with gg is just seeing what’s happening and filtering out all the flashiness to make decisions based on that knowledge ime
its really interesting to see how far anime fighters have come and how widely accepted they are today now where is my arcsys developed street fighter alpha reboot
