IMO the time has come for Vaclav Smil to switch his allegiance from Honda Civic to Prius

Bugeye '03 WRX hatchback in Sonic Yellow is the best looking ugly car of all time.

Ferrari won the 24 hours of Le Mans but really I’m just happy that the top tier prototype cars look good again. I would race these in a videogame. Surprised that Glickenhaus beat Porsche and Peugeot. The nascar finished 39th overall.

I actually stayed up and watched it this year. Endurance racing tends to settle in after an initial scuffle and then you have some fighting at the end but not this year. They were at each others throats for the first 12 hours easy. I think 14 different cars were #1 at some point. I figured Id check in on the race every now and then while doing other things but nope. I was glued. Every time I was about to go up there was another upset or crash. Fantastic race! Im really glad they aren’t so reliant on downforce it makes for some good passing. I was really rooting for Peugeot there for a minute, so sad when their faster car crashed out. Wild how close the podium field was the entire race.

Oh and I really liked seeing the Nascar there with real headlights installed, somehow surviving for 24 hours. Im pretty excited for the new nascar tech. Once I realized nascar / oval racing is closer to roller derby then formula 1 it clicked for me. I just need a way to consume it that doesn’t suck.

Hello, here is a post I wrote almost exactly one year ago. I am bringing to your attention the fact that I appear to have confused the movie Paul Blart: Mall Cop, a movie which it turns out I have never seen, with the extremely similar? movie Observe and Report which I did in fact see in the theaters upon its release in 2009.

The 205 GTI 1.9 I4 should be way more lift-off oversteer tail-happy (because of the weight distribution), so the approach to that corner must have been overcooked massively, or the AC mod needs to be trimmed so it gives you the pleasure of having your rear end step out.
In any case,

It’s the FIAT Uno Turbo. This is one of my favorite cars to drive in AC.

I was at the top of third gear going into that turn IIRC and I just held the throttle down and pulled the ebrake. Not much skill involved, but it’s fun!

That’s it, time to hand in my 80ies hot-hatch badge:

if I can’t tell the 205 and Uno apart, this loose gun will hurt someone rather sooner than later :servbotsalute:

(j/k’s on me for not decyphering the square logo in the screencap, it’s there to see for a sec!)
anyway, i recommend a sudden lift of the accelerator before janking the handbrake, physics engine should give you that wonderful weight transfer that lets the rear end step out more easily (and as a bonus, you get a small, but noticeable more compliant turn-in).

I don’t use much finesse at all in the Uno. It’s such a fun car to drive in the filthiest way possible!

GT5 and GT6? Are both working pretty well in the latest RPCS3 build supposedly. Maybe it’s time to revisit them!

finally!

a car company finally gets it, took them only to be bought by a french company … and if you take a closer look, you see that they are dissing the DS3, i.e. a product out of their own brand conglomerate — hope they succeed with that approach
