Fading Brakelight Obscurity III - Green-Orange-Checkered Edizione

BeamNG levels do not yet have dynamic lights but I figured out you can place them in the game’s editor, and this led me to do some moody as hell screenshots

very appreciative of their attention to detail with this run down motel in the West Coast level

BeamNG is another nice one to cruise around in. I mess around in the “impossible” time trial and do some crawling on occasion.

BeamNG just might have the next Battle Royale mode. and it’s a combination of 2 things: a Script that “Floods” a map by steadily raising a water volume, and maps built around the idea of outrunning the oncoming flood. The result is a thrilling chase as you push your car to the limits trying to outrun the rising water while also not falling off the side of the cliff as you climb higher and higher. The map is really well designed with huge potholes and sudden obstacles which can mess up your ride. You can adjust how fast the water rises, with “difficulty settings” on a billboard at the map’s start.

forza players, do any of yous know why i might be struggling to get my tires to ever run warmer than solid pale blue? i feel like i’ve poked everything to make them sweat - minimal tire pressure, absurd cambering, picking the least performant tire compound…

only when executing the wackiest handbrake spins and burnouts have seen them briefly flash clear or yellow, that seems wrong

IIRC the color indicator is grip and not tire (sorry, tyre) temperature. There should be a telemetry window that tells you what the temperatures are

nah, it’s definitely temp, it’s under the ‘heat’ section of telemetry - it was that video that got me chasing down the colour in the first place

guessing their metrics on users who care about tyre temp is so minuscule that they don’t even bother with it.

is it the same with different cars? in assetto corsa, the tyres never got warm with some cars, the only time they got warm was if the track temp was high.

sorry for being a bit late to respond:

I am often mixing up

  • Enthusia (that used a yellow rectangle to indicate load on a tire, and a red rectangle to outline a tire to loose grip)
  • Gran Turismo of yore (where they used a blue > green > yellow > red transition for indicating tire wear)
  • Forza Motorsport (where, iirc, Things were a bit wonky if you did not activate tire wear in the game settings — that’s what I suppose is happening here with the UI, if you do not activate tire wear, it just doesn’t care about updating the UI?)

so take it w/ a grain of salt, but look whether tire wear is toggled on/off in the menu settings?

:tarothink:

wasn’t Forza Motorsport 8 supposedly announced to be out this year…

i saw an incredibly rare car today, so rare I had to tell the person we were going to stop and park and take photos. a fuckin… STIRLING. This is a unholy marriage of Honda and Rover that they tried to make work in America.

there’s a nice vr6 corrado up a couple counties for 10 grand and in another life config i would probably slap the cash down with little restraint
don’t call it a hatchback!!

There’s a VR6 Golf GTI for $750 that just needs the wiring figured out to run. I’ve always wanted a VR6 mk3 jetta because of…The Fast and Furious. I really identified with Jesse, who is a skrunkly neurodivergent nerd who loves european sedans

Its also one of the best sounding engines ever produced

If they don’t force the audience to watch and answer multiple choice question sheets before the real movie starts, it will Not Be The True Gran Turismo Experience, and get 0.5 ☆ reviews left and right.

Also expecting tinny boxes crash sounds here, so you better not disappoint me, GT Movie! :tronyell:

Real gran turismo movie would have

  1. trying and failing driving tests over and over
  2. failing a race, spending $50k to make your toyota vitz have 500bhp, then trying again and wiping everyone
  3. grinding the wall to slingshot past opponents
  4. Snoop Dogg - Dogg's Turismo 3 (GT3 US Soundtrack) - YouTube

do you think the yellow evo from gran turismo 2000 will be in the movie

Considering how much GT is about car appreciation and collecting as much as (or more than) racing, I always felt a Gran Turismo live action would be better suited to either a TV show like Top Gear or an anthology movie series about car history with stories like Ford v Ferrari.

I’m sure the story of the person in this movie is a decent story tell, but this trailer makes it seem like it’s more about the person playing Gran Turismo rather than it being about the person himself, who played Gran Turismo.

The biggest issue I see happening though is that it’s not going to have Moon Over the Castle. I’m hoping it at least has the bold directorial vision have the climax accompanied by 5OUL ON D!SPLAY.

If this isn’t playing for 20 minutes before the movie starts while everyone is filing into their seats I’m asking for my money back
