so if you do have the same wheel, maybe let me ask one question i have on my mind for a while now, and where i seem to be a bit… special:
I find that the brakepedal is way to hard sprung, and has not enough travel, up to the point that i have been switching the clutch and brake in the settings for each game. I like to think that it is due to me driving too much french barques, and they have basically made me a comfy loving sappy lamer when it comes to firm pedalling, but idk, i feel that there is a proper need to have a brakepedal that can give you something to work with instead of a 0/20/100 split of brake application, which is what i feel the switched pedals do.
for the bystanders that wondwr why i even contemplate asking this - the brake is basically as essential to turning as is the wheel, since it is all about managing the weight transfer after it has served its main task, scrubbing off speeeeeeed…
doing races in cars with floppy/bouncy suspension teach you a lot about weight shifting by hitting the brakes for a moment and seeing the front take a nose dive, that’s easy to do - but if you progressively roll off the brake pedal while turning into a follow-up corner, e.g. in multiple S-corners, that’s where you can get that it is more about controlling the weight shuffling around in a controller manner…
and before you ask:
Yes, ENTHUSIA has spoiled my mind in that regard also.
And I have the slight suspicion that this is why i love the hydropneumatic suspension sooo much, it gives you ample suspension travel and boating, and controlling the direction you are aiming at in a perfect manner makes driving slowly already more fun than it should do!
/confession time off
Logitech really screwed up the brake pedal on the G29 and G920 wheels. They added some kind of foam block or something to make the pedal feel more like a load cell, but it definitely doesn’t feel right. Then they did some silly thing with the drivers where the pedal input isn’t linear or somesuch nonsense. You’re not alone in your dislike of it. My strategy for dealing with is has just been to learn to live with it :\
I race on PC pretty much exclusively (aside from Gran Turismo Sport), so I may invest in a decent set of pedals to use separately down the line. I’m looking forward to seeing what kind of new products come out when the PS5/This ain’t the Xbox ONE Series XXX are released.
Best of all is that he has the ‘H’ numberplate (trailing letter) on the car, which i thought was tough to get for modded vehicles (i. e. if you are not using original parts).
Before you ask, (trailing) ‘E’ numberplates are for PHEVs or outright EVs, ayup.
seriously though, person though that a 6x6 R5 is a brilliant idea should either be hero, or taken to a hospital to get a proper sanity check soonish… what’s next, a Smart 6 wheeler!!!
