confession-time:
i kinda love the 1st gen Focus WRC since playing it on the WRC 4 demo on the PS2 in… phew, 2004?2005?ish. They had a BP branded Focus and iconic blue/yellow Subaru Impreza WRX on offer, and one or two tracks, iirc. And somehow, the Focus just clicked with me way better than with a good friend of mine i was chasing times with, he got along with the Impreza much, much better than i did… and thus we started to push the cars to their limits and were battling for tenths of a second… all the other Focus’es in rally games i’ve played afterwards didn’t manage to grab me in the same way that this version did, and it still has a special place in my heart, 15 years on.

It really is sublime. It’s the only car I feel really in control of in Finland. (Aside from the Mini Cooper that tops out at 80MPH)
