I’ve been having huge “shit talks” with a Polish dude from the art of rally server. He lives in Canada since he’s 1 year old (call him polish cause that’s what he speaks with his parents, language = nation sorta thing, he agrees).
He pretty much has… an all out North American taste.
I.E.:
[edit] oh yeah, this is a lexus… but you don’t much of those around here, not even now that they are more sold here… I’ve seen 5 different Teslas in my town, but never a Lexus [/edit]
And German cars… and Volvos… yeah still pretty much North American.
SO… the “shit talks” is about me saying his tastes suck and how all those cars would basically be unusable on most South European towns (not many planes around here).
He didn’t believed me much, or at least felt what I meant until I’ve shown him this:2 photos taken in the same place:
He just went “Oh shit man, that road is tiny… now I see what you mean, if I lived there I could use these cars.”
So I was only left with one answer: “That’s my town’s main street those cars are getting in/out.”
YEEEP… those lights.
I actually have to admit that I do like the caddies since… mid 2000s when they started to do saloons that looked like that?
I was always thrown off by “special versions” full of fins and indents on the body.
But those clear ones are a work of marvel… they are a Cadillac, “sweating” comfort wherever it goes.
[edit] also they don’t have those smooth continuous european like lines, but they did a better job imo at those breaking lines than BMW ever did.
They know they are not Pininfarina, but they wear it and own it. Those things can be seen in aesthetics design [/edit]
I rented a Caddy XTS in Florida in 2019. It was a cheap imitation of the good euros in every way. I was not a fan. But those mad V series cars they made for a while were so painfully AMERICAN it hurt in a good way.
btw, fair warning.
art of rally completely screwed the gameplay.
they had a good thing going there, they tried to change and failed.
they seem adamant about not changing back, despise all my efforts.
my advise right now:
don’t buy it if you didn’t so far.
[edit]
this might really sound like the comment out of resentment. it is not.
gave it proper thought and for a long time.
they told me “we know it’s not gonna please everyone” but the fact is that no one said the changes were good.
following good internet etiquette now a days… no one has the balls of saying it bad either.
I can’t present the situation better, and this is nothing more than a personal opinion
[/edit]
torque curve.
supposedly they put it further into the gears.
this means no smoke when doing corner because you either stick to the road with absolute grip, or just slide in a straight line.
there’s no power/rotation/whatever for the physics to force the car forward even with little grip.
at least that’s how it feels. also the stratos feels less powerful than a 1975 Škoda 130 RS.
OOOOH everything is explained now.
they made their game more accessible for the upcoming consoles release.
sure… you have dark souls, and instead of making dark souls II another game, just ruin dark souls until get dark souls II in dark souls, before it even gets a chance to shine in a bigger audience.
really smart. I start to think these people don’t play many videogames.
really loving the new Glickenhaus, super-flared wheelarches with extravaganza louvres, that tasty rear wing design, and i even start to come round to the front fascia
second race in Monza coming up soon, LM in August. Don’t expect them to blitz the stage, but considering this is a bespoke design, it is cool to see him pull it off. Go King Glicko, may Lady Luck bless one of your entries in Le Mans, tres bien…
Rush Rally Origins is essentially the combination of the first game’s top-down perspective and Rush Rally 3’s incredible visuals and racing engine. Here are some early screenshots.
The thing is, you can already set the camera top down and play this way in Rush Rally 3. Anyhow, I like 3 a lot, so I’m sure Origins will be great.
