the beans have different shapes in addition to different colors to help with color-blindness, probably still not a fun thing to play around but i thought it’d be nice to mention at least. puyo puyo tetris goes a little further with it with customizable bean shapes. i’m not even shilling, i just think it’s a nice thing

i was going to triple post about ffxiv again because i decided to say something nice about it every time someone didnt say something nice about it but parkers post blew my ideas out of the water
one of the best things about playing ffxiv is watching parker get a record amount of vulnerability stacks as he tanks and FEELING eska’s healing anguish
also that everyone is cool about calling eachother character names while we play. thank you all for that
ffxiv is better than ikaruga becuase you get to pilot a gundam <-- this is an in-game spoiler sorta but its so fucking cool
i honestly hope ikaruga makes it through the second round. this isnt an easy choice!
I WAS ABLE TO HAVE A WEDDING IN FFXIV AND YOU ALL CAME that made me cry too. thats not even story stuff!

ikaruga is a great game and I love it but honestly ffxiv is one of the most genuine and affecting games I’ve ever played and like, deals with trauma in a way almost no videogames are actually interested in engaging with. i have cried easily a dozen times playing ffxiv. please dont be mean to it arbitrarily. that is my humble plea

This is one of the reasons I can’t vote for ikaruga because every port of it screws this up and I don’t like it.
But also Ikaruga is the shooter on everybody’s list so bleh to that.

ikaruga’s great and i meant the direct comparison to be a little joking (as the whole process of ranking disparate already-good things should be). i’m glad ZR at least generated a little discussion though because it’s dear to me and something i strongly associate with this community (green + orange > red + blue, we had one of our QoP finals playing it, you don’t see a lot of discussion about it elsewhere, etc) and it came in one nomination short of the cutoff
well anyway as far as the current vote is concerned im a neet furry lesbian and my path is clear

in case anyone is wondering, grand finals comes down to God Hand vs. Silent Hill 2, which should come as absolutely no surprise to anyone who has been here more than a month or so
It actually gets knocked out by NiGHTS: Into Dreams in round 133 and sent to losers’ bracket, where it beats Yume Nikki in round 141, only to immediately lose to Ico in 148. But if it’s any consolation, Ico makes it pretty far from that point before getting knocked out!

I’m honestly kind of sad Super Mario Maker 2 didn’t make it into the brackets, but I got Puyo and Spelunky on here so I probably can’t complain about anything. I’m grateful my opinions are a strong enough influence on this arbitrary and nonsensical list.

Deus Ex is probably in my top 5 of all videogames, so unless you want to vote for Gameboy Camera to win against the Super Mario 3s and the God Hands, etc then i cannot abide by this argument

street fighter 2 has been (and will continue to be) one of the most interesting games of this century. it’s just a monumental thing that never ends. i love it a lot. hope to play online w friends again, someday

game boy camera vs deus ex - GBC is a perfect beautiful interactive video game product involving your real world and also not causing terrorism (hi Pokemon Go). Deus Ex has so many buttons and is clunky and it is no longer 1996.
