A week for voting is very long, maybe we could debate/discuss from Monday to Thursday and vote on the weekends?

I think either shortening to 3 days of voting or keeping the 7 days but running the voting in parallel with discussions would be more reasonable

i say run the vote for 7 days but no discussion period. or even 5 days.
Is it really going to take 7 days for our 75 or so active posters to vote? I like the prevoting period for discussion. Once the voting begins you can’t stop yourself from slamming that vote button.
4 week discussion period, 15 minute voting period.
I agree the voting period probably doesn’t need to be this long but I really treasured the 7 day pre-vote discussion. There was some high-quality, meaty stuff there that I wouldn’t want to cut short if possible.
