i had an alchemist for the sake of some quests and doors in eo2 and she looked like this, i named her laura
i didn’t carry her with me but i think of her
this is good and i think i may end up using it to kind of do the opposite sometimes

i dunno how i feel about sailing as a thing in eo3, but i do think the dungeon crawling early on is balanced in a more interesting way than eo2. the temporary checkpoints are gone, meaning you once again have to make it all the way back to whatever point of your current stratum you need to get to. however, resources run out very easily (at least for me), which means you’ll want to find camps and bring tents along to rest out in the dungeon. so unlike the previous game the balance is geared more towards longer explorations, and while camping mitigates risk, as usual your entire trip would be wasted if you died. i like it.

i dunno about the regular mode but the story mode in etrian 2 untold is bad
they added all the things i want to get away from when i boot up etrian instead of other rpg

Oh… I liked the story, I thought the characters were cute.
But yeah, all the other features (but mainly the restaurant) already make it a strong entry to play even without the story. Though you have to clear the story to get the Fafnir Knight class in Classic Mode, I think? I gotta look it up to remember properly though.

i have only occasionally played it on ymer’s 3ds and don’t know if im gonna turn it back on.
i just don’t find any comfort in having these specific archetypes kinda waffling about like this and all chiming in with “???” “it cant be” “whats happening?” in turn after each other whenever anything happens. also hearing yuri lowenthal immediately drops my appreciation of everything else. it’s not his fault he had to voice the most unbearable character in p4 but his voice and intonation is permanently bound to this associative annoyance for me
the difficulty seems nice tho. untold seems extra cruel after how easy eo2 regular quickly got
