Elden Ring (Part 1)

finally beat this fuckin’ game. 118.5 hours. i’m not beating this haligtree boss i have nothing to prove.

was a good time! objectively a better game if it were at least 30% shorter. cool it exists and it was a captivating 3 weeks.

now to relearn whatever my hobbies were before this game existed.

  • Added a function to record an icon and the name of an NPC on the map when you encounter that NPC.
  • Added NPC Jar-Bairn.
  • Added new quest phases for the following NPCs: Diallos/ Nepheli Loux/ Kenneth Haight/ Gatekeeper Gostoc.
  • Added some summonable NPCs in multiple situations.
  • Increased the number of patterns of objects player can imitate when using Mimic’s Veil.
  • Added night background music for some open field area.

Excited about the patch notes!

But I have a question, does anyone know what those stone spikes that are always in the area of grace sites are? Players usually make notes around them that say like “requires but hole” around them. They are everywhere and I’ve discovered no function for them. Do they indicate PVP zones or something?

I think they indicate where you can summon Spirit Ashes.

Literally as I’m in the middle of running around the map obliterating every boss with Hoarfrost Stomp, they nerf it

jar baby and the rich boy are friends, but kenneth and nepheli seem unchanged for me

I made it through luck and being very over leveled. Wish I had some better advice!

Those are called summoning pools. You can only place gold (coop) and red (voluntary duel) signs near one. They’re usually near bosses or at the beginning of dungeons.

also why would they give that gatekeeper dude a quest when everyone already murdered him for their runes

i felt pretty bad when i killed the demi-human queen, then wandered back into the cave i’d run through and found them all cowering from me.
oh well now i’ve got a jar cannon baby!! i have no idea how that works but it sounds awesome

i put one to sleep with my newly found torch, and that status effect lasts waaay longer than i was expecting. probably a solid strategy for any fight with more than one enemy, assuming they’re vulnerable to it.

hmmm! that sounds like a fun strategy, and a cool weapon to make my next objective.

Decreased FP consumption of the following sorceries: Loretta’s Greatbow

??? This spell was already so good it had a permanent place in my 5 skill slots. It turns your astrologer into a sniper. Very easy way to beat Radahn
