i mean if you don’t get hit it’s fine and you made it to the endgame with 20 but iirc you need 40 - 60 to be able to facetank like up to 3 hits from endgame bosses in a row. i think pumping vitality is only really necessary if you’re doing a ton of pvp
good to know. ok, guess it’s time to head into the Erdtree and roll credits
kinda crazy knowing i got a whole fuckin dlc to do. this game is too big!!! but its kinda the right size
lol idk, i mostly navigate by menu now so its kinda just like ds3 with bouts of open worldliness. i am going to look for mohg!
Wait until you see how big the DLC is.
slowly closing in on the end of the game, putting it off by doing everything else first
decided to use the Load Game option for a change, discovered I’d made a hero character called Gonk and gotten her to the Church of Dragon Communion without a torch? crept through the pitch-black Coastal Cave by judicious use of lock-on
People dropping out of Nightreign runs has gotten ridiculous. 75% of runs I start have people quitting in the middle. Sometimes I get it. Other times I don’t. Going into the first night boss at level 9 is fine!
it turns out I have to burn some thorns to get into the Erdtree
I am thinking a lot about this:
my vigor is 25 now, have finally upgraded some swords, and the game seems too easy. I barely have time to learn a new boss, I’m seeing runebears, “I can take him”, and succeed. I fear I’m overlevelled but then get a truckload of runes from beating a boss. what do I do with them?? I already have enough smithing stones to upgrade anything that takes my fancy, and I’d feel terrible for losing them, so: I level endurance so I can wear fancier hats
Mohg was a fun spectacle, ah! is that you, Master Logarius? but no
I’m still putting off doing this because it feels wrong. And I have a lot of other stuff to do (both in game but mostly out, I miss Elden ring).
to be clear, I thought for exactly zero seconds about the consequences of burning the thorns. hell yeah let’s get toasty
the ancient Farum Azula dragon that drops out of the sky is giving me more grief than Malenia did
I don’t know that I would have ever defeated Placidusax if not for an exploit that was patched out shortly thereafter.
(It was the one where you ring a bell to summon a wraith and parry the wraith with Carian Retaliation to transform it into a magic dart.)
i beat him by bashing him with a hammer and running a lot (and many resistance amulets)
this somehow hasn’t worked for me with malenia
I gave up on trying to manually aim for their toes and switched to a caster loadout. no idea what spells are useful and I have collected a lot, so picked some at random. turns out the blood bees have wonderful tracking and can trigger bloodloss about every 1-2 casts
have fought another younger one (one pair of wings, no lightning) afterwards & am getting a lot of practice in for working out what attacks they are doing by watching their toe animations
I met this guy. I wish I could summon Torrent, my legs are going to fall off
I like that the last annoying guy before the dungeon boss is the same sort of annoying guy that you meet on first entering the Lands Between. he hit hard but it turns out I have had lots of practice avoiding halberd sweeps
