it’s a bit much for my taste, i think a good dungeon gimmick should be simple so you get to the trick quickly given you’ve got “don’t die” problems to juggle. leyndell catacomb is awkward for other reasons imo but still less-dull than the others beside auriza side tomb
i thought it was supposed to be a real dungeon since i haven’t found another place built from the same assets. but then it ended with mohg.
you know i kinda like the dark souls 1 sewers
every time i meet a body horrored old man with a gold crown and dark robes i think its the same dude even tho there’s at least two distinct variations
we used to have three demons with giant asses now there’s probably like 5 bosses total that don’t have a palette swap sneaking around somewhere
there’s a prefab dungeon conjoined to it
i didn’t expect the last boss to just be the god from princess mononoke
i did not beat malenia. i refuse to do it. not because i like her, i hope she rots in her hole
i got an ending, i’m done. there were some moments. some good times. some characters. also feeling like i’m insane because i can’t believe people want all this extra videogame stuff.
i went for the ranni ending even tho i’ve lost the ability to see the appeal people have for something like her. i suppose i can feel some sympathy for this presumably ancient woman placing her soul in a perfectly sculpted shell but it’s hard for me not to feel like i want to apply pressure to her porcelain mask until it breaks. did feel some appeal to her tho while she was covered in blood after a little murder of some great thing.
did you find Seluvis’ stash of dolls
did not know it was a thing
a lot of possible quests have gone nowhere with the characters basically disappeared cause i didn’t stumble upon them in the places you are supposed to but that’s just how it goes, that’s normal
i have no clue what happened to the blind lady who needs grapes after the first time i saw her for example
but i did accidentally help the archer woman with the wolf friend do something to help her giant friend? i’m not sure what happened but glad it worked out for her?
You would like what happens if you don’t help him
Currently playing Elden Ring and man Im in DEEP. Im trying to find seedbed curses for the Loathsome Dung Eater.
Im playing as an edgy samurai called Hebimaru. I respecced into intelligence and dexterity just to have more buttons to press. Pretty damned cool game!
I also gotta do Volcano Manor. I don’t even know how to get there!
What an insanely COMFY game ngl. Ive got a pretty good rhythm and the head scratching moments are shortlived and just provide some nice friction.
The first time I played this game and I played for like 30 hours, I didn’t really “get” the progression. I was too focused on following grace and felt quite weak as a result
This time Im a fricking powerhouse.
been playing nightreign again and
y’all, do not fight the magma wyrm. it takes most of a day to kill it, at least if you’re under level 10, which you probably are. it has way too much hp even if you can do decent damage. the number of runs i’ve had absolutely ruined because people keep stabbing at the fucking magma wyrm after like 8 minutes and as the rains come in might double digits.
don’t fight the goddamn magma wyrm.
Im so tempted to get Nightreign but I wanna finish ER and SotET first!!! The idea of Elden Ring fast and teaming up is really exciting to me. There’s a parry guy who turns into a monster!!
here’s my character, hebimaru, around level 80 which feels approximately midgame to me.
i just got my moonveil katana up to level 10. what i like is how there are these squeezes on resources that sometimes create little valleys in the weapon progression. I was at level 6 or something forever but as soon as i got one appropriate somber stone i could immediately boost this one
i love how easily you can respec but its not without consequence. you still have to quest for more larval tears!
im currently trying to make my way into Volcano Manor… what a pain
magma worm also has an attack where it stomps around out or range of everyone for like 10 seconds and will chain this attack together five times in a row. He’s the most dedicated timer waster
Those day 2 crater runs where he’s the boss at that final altar are always skin of the teeth the rain is closing in as he’s dying sorts of situations.
You’re making me want to start playing regularly again.
I guess I prefer dealing with him on the castle rooftop to like tougher fights like the Death Bird or the Bell Bearing Hunter, or even more time waste-y ones like that Ancestor Spirit deer guy.
Death right bird is usually a guaranteed near team wipe because of a mega attack it has that shoots fire in five straight lines in a star pattern, but the orientation of the attack isn’t based on where the bird is facing, it’s based on compass directions in world space
Apparently players are very bad at innately knowing which way is north or south because it always hits me and my teammates
being sent to do a series of assassinations in Elden Ring in lieu of Volcano Manor. Also there’s a seedbed curse somewhere in the Capital I need to collect. I might skip the one in Volcano Manor unless I find it easily but I think I might just do the assassinations and fight the snake man.
I just found the seedbed curse today, it’s towards the end but not near it? if you start climbing up things then you’re close, look in the big fort
thread has made me pick up my old game again, I defeated the Elden Lord so I think there’s just a little post-game stuff to do before beating it. funny how I never had to climb up to the frozen mountains
finally discovered where Brother Corhyn was hiding
trying not to spoil anything but there’s an overland area that’s the equivalent of turning up the lights and putting on mediocre music a little too loud to get people to start clearing out and one or two more legacy dungeons depending on how complete you want the run to be
what level should I be for those, I increased my vitality past 20 since your previous advice. it’s 21 now btw
