I’d buy it if that was true.
Or if all the boss fights were needle drops.

Should have just been Chalice Dungeons
The copy of one of the tips they throw at you during the tutorial uses the abbreviation N. B. which I’ve never seen a game do, let alone a game with as large an audience as this.
lmao
I really admire how From’s approach to presentation and optimization is “no no that’s for the other companies”
I also find it quite funny that this game has almost no new assets in it. like more companies should do that, probably, instead of hiring 500 new artists every two years, then firing them all and folding. at the same time, maaaybe it comes off as a little tacky when your prior game sold 30 million copies. at least dump a new poop lake in there, you ain’t fooling anyone
that Duchess outfit is doing the job, even if it looks like it came from Bloodborne
i like that the bird guy has an indian accent
in my first attempt with random matchmaking, we got to the day 3 boss but wiped when it got down to about 20% health
the fact that you can just lose gives it a little pvp flavor i suppose
the variety of weapons everywhere is a bit overwhelming, and there’s no way to store them in your inventory without having them in your 6 slots accessible by the directional pad, i like that you can’t hoard them and have to make quick decisions about what to keep vs abandon
i wonder what meta progression between runs will look like
damn I actually won on my first run and then unlocked the duchess? that’s a surprisingly positive first impression
mechanics feel good, I like that it’s slightly harder to revive your allies every time they die
please tell me your name isn’t lyndon johnson
Hope your armor doesn’t cut between your bunghole and your nuts
I haven’t played a souls game in over a year.
I have never played one fast.
The meta progression here is hard to grok.
This game is very hard.
So like really what exactly is this game/an extraction multiplayer type game/how is it one of those?? geist kinda got me there, but i have never touched a game like that before, so i still dont really get the analogue. What’s one i might have heard of or watched streams of or whatever?
im kinda pleased to see From dipping back into an Armored Core et Chromehounds type era where they cash in on their formulae in the form of a bunch of niche multiplayer games. If they wanna save some money to make some money good on them, i trust them at this point to use it wisely when they have a new idea
it seems like it really helps to have many hours logged in elden ring trying every weapon class and weapon art so you can instantly be like “a whip with endure, useless” or “flaming strike fire infused raptor’s talon, i have been blessed by the rng”
based on very limited experience the shrinking playfield mechanic seems to happen all at once at the end of a day? like it’s the game telling you TIME TO FIGHT THE BOSS GO GO GO
but i have also never played a tarkov or a fortnite so no idea how they compare to the genre
it seems like sped-up arcade elden ring for sickos where from can easily pilot new mechanics that may appear in a future mainline action rpg
I don’t know what I was even thinking buying a fromsoft randomized equipment boss rush game
OHHH its like PLUNKBAT lol ok
see thats how much of a granny i am re: this genre
ah yes, the mod to the operation flashpoint sequel. i’m surely familiar enough with that having played operation flashpoint in college and seen battle royale
I will say that this seems like it was like, pretty damn cheap to make and the variation between runs is not incredible — like, you could see how someone scoped this as “don’t get stuck with the same build the whole way through that some elden ring / souls players might” but so far (not unlike mooncrash) I am finding that the variation here, despite being ~the point~, is not that much more pronounced than in the main event because the pace is so comparatively screwy
I like it but it feels like a much more insubstantial release than erdtree or armored core as far as like, “off year” fromsoft
It’s day one and I feel like I’m ten years behind everyone. I have a really hard time keeping up with the other players and seeing which way they went even with the icons.
I thought it was a mod of a mod for arma 2
