I haven’t watched anything since the scrap Dalek episode. I get the impression from a distance they’re basically doing another Jackie/Pete thing here with an alternate timeline taken over by Cybermen and Graham moping about how he was supposed to be the one to have died, not his wife, and all of that.
@daphaknee Can you move these three posts over to the other Doctor Who thread, and close this thread?
(The other thread is weirdly spelled “DR.Who” with like, no space, or lower case r, and man that will continue driving me bonkers forevermore but this is the price we pay I suppose)
Final wassssssssssss okayyyyyyyyy I guesssssssssssss
The Master was delightful. I liked how batshit his plan was, too. Doctor was good in this one too, as well as the old guy.
So they introduce his plan, and then like, it is foiled via deus ex machina not 10 minutes later? Why spend so much time building up the parts of the story they did if none of it paid off?
They even did the thing, which I can’t stand, where the Doctor creates this super-destructive ultimate weapon that will kill all the bad guys, then decides not to use it, because it would involve killing, then some other character wanders in and uses the weapon she created to kill all the bad guys. This has to be the fifth season finale they’ve done this in. It’s such a cheap-ass cheat.
Anyways, I dunno, I like the backstory they gave to Gallifrey, it’s got potential. I don’t like the reconning they did on the Doctor’s history, but, I guess it doesn’t matter that much.
Remember how like four episodes back they introduced a pair of super powerful gods, who got animated backstory sequences, and then got defeated instantly?
I was expecting that to payoff with everyone still stuck in their nightmare machine but that didn’t happen.
Would anyone happen to have a completely authentic and not suspicious resource for the Faceless Ones animation? Because I’m not digging one up at all, and apparently other people have non-physical access somehow, somewhere.
fantastic imo, chibnall has been eating shit and I’m glad people realized
I don’t really even buy the argument they should let someone new in because they are demonstrably trying that and the available pool of younger BBC talent is just execrable, bring back the kitsch, it’s all they have going
