dream about I was in a Seoul style night club but more like a video game room. My friends sit at a private VIP corner at the end of the house, they’re playing Street Fighter II. But when I arrived, some of them have to leave and go to hospital. One of my closed friends lost his arm in gang fight.

I had a dream I had access to a time machine and had to figure out how to evade an ectoplasmic volcano explosion while also managing several tasks throughout the mountain town that was going to be destroyed by the ectoplasmic volcano. The only available modes of transportation were zipline, gondola, and a bicycle that had been converted to ride on a railroad track. The tasks that needed completing were attending a grad level CS class on the semantics of AI and going to a haunted house and then a buffet at the haunted house. Both of these were scheduled events so it turned out all the travel optimization barely mattered and the only constraint was making it to the last train out of town on time.

Had a dream Blink 182 was playing at my hometown’s outdoor music venue and had switched to ska, but there were only about 12 people that showed up.

I dreamt that after leaving the airport last night my wife and I were going through some Greyhound bus station or something. For some reason, my wife had a very well-trimmed beard. We ran into my brother there, and seeing her beard and my ponytail he said something to the effect of “You know you can just select a new skin/costume from the main menu, right?”
What could this mean?

Just woke up in the middle of the night from an exciting Star Wars fan fic dream. It was about clone wars era Anakin and Obi Wan but in live action being played by Hayden Christiansen and Ewan MacGregor. And in an alt universe where Palpatine failed to turn Anakin but he still left the Jedi order, becoming sort of like a Jedi Ronin. Anyway the content of the dream was mostly them reuniting and fighting a bunch of mandalorians for some reason, including Bo Katan who was named Talus or Talice or something instead. Anakin refused to fight her because he had no personal grudge against her which irritated Obi Wan. Then there was a whole bit where he was making fun of Anakin’s stand up comedy routine (?) for being basically just an excuse to hit on the audience

this morning i had a vivid series of lucid dreams!
the secret protip to lucid dreaming is you gotta be on the verge of REM sleep, and whenever you wake up just keep going right back to sleep. i’d normally be annoyed at myself for half-sleeping away my pre-work time, but i rarely get to have some lucid sessions and its a shitty day outside/my Friday anyway
these all took place in an alternate funhouse mirror version of my hometown, Londonderry, Vermont. that in itself is not unusual for me lol. i have a weirdly consistent alternate universe in my dreams that i revisit a lot (or at least my subconscious insists it’s consistent, who knows, not like i can record dream images and compare them or anything)
What made it weird is that once i started lucid dreaming, i could go in and poke around scrutinizing details and asking people questions. Just kinda generally marvelling at the imagery my brain was making up. Dreams tend to kind of suck for me nowadays, either they’re melancholy stories about going on trips with old friends i haven’t seen in forever, or theyre anxiety dreams about fighting with loved ones and/or the world ending and also i forgot to go to class all semester and my teeth are falling out oh nooo. it was nice to have some dreams that were cool and intriguing for me
specific details (under a cut cuz this post is too long and dreams are too boring to subject people to unasked)
Summary
-the “story” of my dream was just that i walked to the grocery store from my (old) house, then visited a friend who lives in town (in dream reality only), then walked home. Once i started lucid dreaming i kept re-entering at different points in the story and trying new stuff
-the grocery store had a massive warehouse built next to it that contained an arcade. for some reason paying for any of the machines was based on a yearly subscription card and thus very expensive; i bluntly told the lady at the counter this was stupid and she shrugged and said i could go in and look around if i wanted. I only remember that there was a Puzzle Bobble/Bust-a-Move cabinet
-my friend was living in a sick as hell building he’d bought with his college buddies that was like, a multi-tiered loft? i wish i could record dream images because i’d love to draw this. it was kinda ramshackle and full of little decorations and books and games
-we watched a surreal movie together (like, “intentionally” surreal even for a dream) that in typical dream fashion we were also sometimes in. at one point my friend pulled a shotgun from out of nowhere and started shooting the uhh, villains? and said “I want to see how this changes the plot.”
-he also showed me a weird scrapbook he’d made out of what looked like old beer ads from magazines. At one point i muttered “what does this say about me” to the confusion of my dream construct friend
-i did some typical lucid dream attempting superpowers shit. I can never fly or TF in this damn things but i achieved a limited degree for once (i swam lazily around in the air for a bit and uhh, did Something NSFW to my body that im sure most trans girls can relate to!!)
-the one that took was i was able to do telekinesis. i went home (which was almost exactly my family’s house when i was in high school (IRL it got destroyed by a hurricane and no longer exists)) and showed off to my family and they were unimpressed. my stepmom said “about time” as she levitated a mug into her hand
-i asked some questions about how their lives were going. my college aged little brothers were both highly successful in their fields! my 31 year old brother on the other hand cheerfully said “oh ive mostly just been hanging out at home playing videogames.” I asked “with your lovely fiancee, right?” and he started to excitedly talk about her before going “oh you meant in real life, not this dating game i was playing. Nah im still single.” this made me very annoyed/sad at my subconscious
-they all asked me “So what about you? What’s going on with your life?” and i said “good question, i’ll have to think about it when i wake up.” Then i deliberately fell on my back, opened my eyes, and finally got out of bed.

I had my first dream in months!
And it was just that the writers strike meant that the new Doctor Who special had to be some sort of touring live theater thing done in the round in a school gym. I walked in late just in time for the ending and the standard big resolution involving restarting the universe or whatever didn’t make much sense. But David Tennent seemed to be having a good time.

dreamed i was back in my fathers house except it was cleaner, but still had shitty carpet, and kind of a amalgamation of two places he lived at after our parents divorced. my brother and sister were there as if we were on one of the court mandated every other weekend visits and i kept fretting about how bored i was going to be because i didnt bring anything along and wondering why we were over in the first place because we were all over 18. i found some toys on the ground and was like “oh i bet this was here when incredibly traumatic thing happened”

Dreamed I was in a firefight, basically what instigated this was a very weird version of Madden for the Nintendo Gamecube. The other side lost and they rolled up in an SUV. They were…sorry it’s an SUV full of Karens I don’t know how else to describe it. They started firing at me so I tried climbing a hill and I kept getting pelted by bullets while crawling through grass, I guess Metal Gear Solid 3 has managed to worm its way into my subconscious.

Had a few dreams recently where I’m playing a match of Gundam Battle Operation 2, and partway through I realise I’m dreaming. Once I’m aware I am dreaming I do my best not to cheat, but I’m also compelled to play the match to completion instead of just waking up.
It wouldn’t be fair to everyone else if I just ended the match there, you see.

Decided to take a nap after work. The dream started with waking up and finding a big HL2-style tick imbedded in my arm. It’s sucking something out of me because the skin around it is white and clammy. I swatted it off and broke off two of its legs, then picked it up with the intention of bringing it to the kitchen to squash without making too much of a mess.
It first survival instinct was to stretch its body out super long to appear to be a dead twig. When that didn’t take it started inflating its inner limbs to look like huge squishy grubs, then inflating its entire body to look bigger, and show off its biolumiesent swirling innards.
While walking through my place I also noticed a ton of spiders crawling around inside things, but at least they were normal looking spiders. When I got into the kitchen I found another of the headcrabs, but this one was covered in little maggot headcrabs, and as soon as it sensed danger it started grabbing them and throwing them under the carpet and into dark cracks where they would be a pain in the ass to find.
I’m awake now.

Dreamed they went for VR implants through the temple rather than back of head, and the interface was small and magnetically snapped in. And they were demonstrating a VR accessible water fountain headset that delivered optimal hydration experience, including altering the water flavor by brain signal. Except one time out of 60 it would start shooting too much water and there was a drowning risk and if you tried to pull it off your head at that point it would start a doom loop where the headset would press tighter and tighter against your head until it was crushed.
