Had a dream I was in prison (for rioting?) and was on some work program deep in the woods. There were four or so other women with me and a camp counselor type jail guard. I also recognized the deep woods as being a New England woods, so this was basically my brain combining prison with the diabetes summer camp I used to attend and later work at when I was in college.
Anyway another prisoner was trying to convince me to run away. I was scared to run away because I thought I would be caught and shot. But the single guard was not paying attention so it looked like we might be able to make it. I told the other prisoner to run for it and send a message if she managed to escape. She shook her head, looked me in the eyes, and said something like “No. it must be a mass escape. Everyone must escape jail all over the world, at once.”
I was deeply moved but still refused to run for it. Later she ran away alone and successfully got away. The camp counselor prison guard was very upset!
just dreamed i was at a countdown for the end of the world and ended up spending the decisive moment trying to piss. i thought it’d be really funny but when zero hit and existence did not wink out instantly but instead got all soupy and weird i had a regret. woke up almost immediately, needing to piss
i was in a idyllic space. flowers, fields, blue sky. i remember outstretching my hands and proclaiming: ’ this is beautiful! ’ it really was but then i looked over the horizon and notice soldiers coming.
they have guns. they start shooting. i run, and run, and run.
toward the end there was guy running with me, i run around a corner. the soldiers are closing in. i push him into a corner. it’s a dead end. i keep running, somehow never getting shot. i realize what i did to the guy who was running with me. i wake up in a cold sweat.
this was not a good dream. we were getting chased by nazis. stress levels p high lately y’all.
I had a very nice dream about being a kid with a crush and going on a field trip with my crush and holding hands. Woke up miserable, of course. Nothing like a nice dream to make me feel like shit afterwards.
i had a dream that i was an expat youtuber in china, whose channel gimmick was that rather than host the show myself i would just like meet random people in various cities and film them showing me around town. it actually seemed kind of cool. but most of the dream was me getting a phone call from a mysterious entity speaking through a voice distortion identity concealer thing supposedly giving me “advice” about what i should do to avoid getting arrested or deported or whatever. it was very creepy. it was weird how much i was able to recreate in my dream the sort of paternalistic subtle but not subtle surveillance state stuff despite having never actually experienced it first hand. they’re in my dreams!
anyway i think i need to spend less time doing virtual tourism on youtube.
I sound like such a Myspace emo kid when I say this but I legitimately prefer nightmares or unpleasant dreams because at least waking up out of them is a relief instead of a letdown
i dreamed i met my friend from highschool again and he told me “i write spiderman comics now. have you read any of my work” in a weirdly aggressive way, and i was nervous until i remembered oh, i actually had read some of his comics in the dream. i’d read the one that was like a mystery about doctor octopuses disembodied arms climbing around an old building killing people, which i liked, and also the one where… the green goblin’s glider flies around an old building killing people… and i had the sad thought that “maybe his range is sort of limited” before i woke up.
i felt bad about being so judgmental in the dream but i guess the spiderman plotlines i felt so picky about were really just ones that i’d dreamed up myself. a self-accusation from the heart…
Dreamed that I worked with a team installing alarm systems and we broke into a guy’s house then spray painted messages on his walls to let him know that he needs one. Our getaway car was some sort of Flintstones thing though and he chased us with monstrous dogs and giant bugs.
Dreamed I had to scale a very steep bridge in my husband’s car. Like, a bridge so steep that by the time you’re halfway up it you’re pointed nearly vertical. I was gunning up the side of this ridiculous bridge, and the car was getting slower and slower, and finally… it was too steep. The engine stopped pushing me forward and was just working hard enough to keep me from sliding backwards if I held the pedal down.
I looked in the rear view mirror and saw a massive line of cars behind me. Like a mile long. And the bridge was full of them and they had nowhere to go and I was about to fall back onto them!! I was so scared and embarrassed I instantly woke up.
This tweet is driving (oh ho ho) me crazy because I thought I was the only one who had this dream/nightmare. Years and years and years of exactly this. Face pushed into that little hole between the seat and the headrest, arms and legs all Stretch Armstrong’d.
I’ve had similar auto horror dreams. Usually it’s like “I have to drive to New Orleans, but the interstate has a deadly loop-the-loop”. Some real Race Drivin’ type crap that you know will kill you. I’m pretty sure I’ve always woken up either before or during traversal of the obstacle.
Mine was usually that the seat was leaned all the way back flat and I was trying to somehow drive full speed down the freeway, struggling but mostly unable to move my head or arms or anything from the actual position my body was sleeping in IRL.
I don’t drive, I’ve never driven a car besides when I learned to drive as a teenager, but I have driving dreams at LEAST once a week, I’m always on the highway and I always know if I get pulled over without a liscense I’m fucked, and I’m always going way too fast
ive also driven from the backseat in my driving dreams!
I have never driven or owned a car, but I have a long running dream storyline about cars I own, very poorly drive, and keep losing track of. I think I still know where the super tiny 1970s economy car I most recently used was, but the massive truck and whatever I had before that are long gone, sitting in a parking spot that I walked away from and completely forgot about.
