dragon’s doggin’ 2: you can roleplay garfield and jon in this one probably

feel like what dragon’s dogma was in need of was more variety in the environments, more cool fantasy people (cats! elves!), and polearms so i am v. happy about this. medusas! shadow of the colossus fights maybe??

It’s going to be hard to resist getting this right away at full price, I think. Especially if others on my PlayStation friend list (or anyone around here who may yet join my PlayStation friend list) do. I don’t want to miss out on the pawn sharing.

Though apparently the server remembers your pawn for a long time. I had friends tell me they used my DD1 pawn years (?) after I’d last played the game (on PS3).

Also, anyone who didn’t play Dragon’s Dogma before it became “Dark Arisen” missed out on the real title screen music.

I like that that band was so inspired by that part where you have to carry harpy corpses to weigh yourself down to reach that out of the way chimera fight past that windy valley.

i wonder if theyll even attempt to deal with how morally queasy the whole concept of pawns is lol

not that i need or even want them to do that, its just very funny how the first game doesnt even try to handwave it. Yep they’re magic homunculi slaves who emerge from a miasma universe without form or void to do whatever you want. However don’t get it twisted, they are also people and you should have some kind of feelings for them by the end of both the main game and Dark Arisen. just not enough to stop literally throwing them at monsters. I mean, what if theyre happy in slavery?? surely no ones ever asked THAT question

Hopefully they can bring in some of the wild energy that went into cut material from the first game, like having to climb a tower to the moon

this looks considerably worse than the early trailers that seemed focused on huge-scale physics effects from causing landslides with spellcasting and whatnot and seemed like a really great natural progression from the MH World engine, so I hope they’re hiding that thunder

Yeah, honestly this looks like one of those more of the same sequels, which in this case I don’t mind.

the scope/density of the game world in this looks incredibly strange in prerelease media… like they somehow merged monhun with FFXV environments.
