playing the switch version of 1 with a lot of SB pawns was probably the most fun i had with that game.

I’ve been playing DD1 finally instead of spending 70 dollars on this. great game, you take 20 seconds to cast a spell and then meteors crash everywhere and kill an entire camp of enemies, then your weirdo party of slaves keeps screaming about fire. this is a game not afraid to have a host of semi randomly generated, disconnected escort quests. when you pick one up the person you are supposed to escort teleports in from nowhere and then will never leave you for any reason unless you drop the quest. could not have a worse design if they tried, and yet somehow you just roll with it. the main city is almost certainly unfinished. all the npcs share about 3 lines of dialog and look like elder’s scrolls rejects. game is peak ps3 jank. i hated that entire generation of gaming, and yet. and yet.

the escort quests also fully let you get away with walking to the location beforehand, dropping a portcrystal and then warping back to pick up your charge → warping them to the goal to pick up your prize it rules lol
your escorts are so beautifully stupid that it’s worth observing at least once tho. if they’re armed they’ll at least try to fight back, but if not theyll just saunter up to bandits and stare until they get shot in the face

Dragons Dogma 1 has my favorite use of a mark->recall mechanic other than, go figure, Morrowind. I love to earn & set my own warp points its the best form of fast travel
