DooM

Romero confirmed he’s working on some things for DooM II and Quake.

New Romero Quake maps would be cool. He didn’t make the best maps in vanilla but Quake’s development was so tenuous that it’s no slight against his ability.

Does it still go in this thread if it’s a DooM-like engine?

the Doomer boards used to be like a refuge for like right-wing/trumpy Doom people (40oz & co) who didn’t like the more “liberal/pc” Doomworld around the time it started apparently… so i was always wary. but i’m not sure how much that political bent has stuck around/some of the members don’t seem to be of that ilk. they’ve made a lot of cool-looking projects but of the ones i’ve played so many of them kind of blend together beyond the cool visual themes. that’s what happens when you put out stuff so quickly i guess (you can see from the title that that one is their 37th project).

Nightdive and id codeveloped this. Much like the DooM rereleases, will have curated mods and map packs, already has Quake 64. And just like those, you’re automatically entitled to this version if you already own a copy on Steam.
