Spinch would have probably been my recommendation as the filler from this bundle. It’s good(ish) and the visuals are worth indulging in.
Toodee and Topdee is a game I remember thinking looked neat from trailers, so I’ll pick that up. Sigma Theory looks interesting, so add that to the pile. Then I was thinking of getting The Suicide of Rachel Foster, but general consensus on the web seems to be that it’s bad and handles its themes poorly so maybe I don’t feel like inflicting that on myself. So I’m also stuck trying to figure out what my number 3 will be.
EDIT: Screw it, I picked up Rising Hell. I’m sure I’ll play 30 minutes of it and then go “ok”
I’ve played a few too many roguelikes of various types lately to be enthused by any of the ones in this bundle. Also I’m going to anti-recommend 12 is Better Than 6. I played about 30 minutes of it a while ago and was really blah about it. I probably got it in a Humble Bundle or something.
Rising Hell and Sparklite are both fine, Detective Di looks most interesting to me, imo Spinch is worth it solely for the graphics and the music’s pretty good too:
I think I am gonna go with either Detective Di or Out of Line for my random third (Rising Hell and Sparklite are both roguelite/procedural so not for me personally), Di as a point & click adventure murder mystery set in ancient china is intriguing as it is not something I’d normally stumble across while Out of Line is puzzle platformer with decent pixelwork which is a comfort food type of gaming to me.
Here’s a bit of a self-serving one. For the next ten days or so, worker-owned leftist movie/tv streaming service Means TV is having a 50% off sale on annual memberships! Lots of good stuff on there, particularly their original serieses and documentaries (as well as all of my stuff, lol).
One can get Valfaris on Fanatical (plus Slain, a game that was free on EGS recently) for $1 which I assume is about as cheap as it is gonna get, if anyone was interested in it but never bothered to actually try it. That said it’s sequel is coming out next year and I would not be surprised for it to get the “give the original away for free to get more people interested in the sequel” treatment so hey, maybe one can get it for $1 cheaper early next year.
i haven’t seen anyone talk abt it here but Get in the Car, Loser is on sale (a little bit by itself and a lot as the complete edition) and it seems cheap and cool enough that i just grabbed it and added it straight into my jrpg list
Rumor has it that Biomutant will be one of the Playstation Plus games next month which is one I’ve definitely wanted to check out but have been reluctant to buy.
I somehow put Asura’s Wrath on my xbox wishlist at some point and got an email saying it’s $3.99…never quite got all the way through on PS3 but I think it’s worth dipping into for that much as one of the giants of the whole-game-is-a-QTE-spectacle pantheon. Think it’s worth noting it hasn’t gotten a PC port (though I’m sure 360/PS3 emulation can manage by now) and the xbox version is playable on newer console iterations
