Disco Elysium

I’m into this guy’s shtick and he’s covered this game in pretty good detail and with some warm insight. Please enjoy.

What’s the status of bugs on the final cut? I remember it had several when it was out a couple of months ago…

This is a nice interview with one of the writers of the game. The intro is ridiculously… there is no other word… cringe. Skip it or laugh. But the interview is very good actually, thoughtful questions and responses.

Biggest bugs we saw in my wife’s playthrough were a minor controller-specific UI issue where when moving left or right in the “sell” menu while low on health you’d use healing items, and one out of place voice line (we were on “classic”), nothing showstopping.

on ps5 if you zoom out all the way you get a controller vibration when you’re at the limit and one time i was getting the vibration as i walked over a threshold that triggered a cutscreen/dialogue sequence and my controller just kept vibrating through the whole thing

unfortunately it was literally the last dialogue sequence in the game so i just held a vibrating controller through the last like 20 minutes and then it kept going through the credits

oh yeah there do seem to be some weird little camera scripting bugs too, but I doubt those are exclusive to the final cut

If I just put all my points in Mind and Heart and make myself a physical weakling I’m not screwing myself am I

all paths in this are equally great and you will be fine

Ok I’m sold

even if you totally neglect your body, drop a few points in shivers, it’s the best skill in the game

It’s good, but it’s not my favorite. Definitely cosigning the recommendation to put points into it, though.

shivers is both great and useful, no brainer skill
