When I read this originally, I thought this was for the beta but… oh
Could also just mean Trials so people don’t swap out exotics for Truth or whatever during heavy round? Wouldn’t be shocked since they’ll do whatever PvP players want and they’ve been asking for that.
yeah it does make a lot of sense for trials and when thinking about some other niche pvp cases in the previous game e.g using one weapon early game and switching to low-key top-tier tlaloc when you have super
for pve activities it seems like it’d be hard to implement?
Flashpoints are weekly hotspots on the Director which will give you Nightfall tier rewards for completing patrol activities or public events. I guess they wanted to have a PvE outlet for Nightfall level gear for solo players and this is it.
There is a PvP analog to this called Call to Arms but it’s unclear what that actually is.
There’s a new Milestones view on the Director which shows you all of the available missions and what their rewards are. Not sure if this is just a completion filter or a way of only showing the destinations with a waypoint for quests you’ve tracked.
Bungie still hasn’t finalized what the light level system will be like in D2. It baffles me that every expansion this seems to be the last thing to get ironed out, and it inevitably has some glaring flaw that needs to be fixed in a followup update.
Social spaces can now hold 26 people instead of D1’s 16.
Control has gotten some tweaks to make it feel better for a 4v4 environment. More details on Monday.
New PvP mode announcement on July 25th, and is speculated to be the second Competitive PvP mode.
Today’s crucible reveal shows blink is still in the game for at least warlocks.
Also nova bomb seems to move slower and explodes into axion bolts.
edit: the titan is using a primary weapon that is some kind of ramp-up machine gun? maybe there are some new primary weapon types too, that could be good for loadout diversity
they also make some tweaks to control, capture is faster begins immediately (no “neutralization” phase) and no longer a cap speed bonus for multiple people on one flag. the match begins with A and C capped to their respective teams.
i might actually play pvp this time, at least at the start before everyone’s figured out the best guns and whatnot
the only issue i foresee with crucible is power ammo only being given to the one person who grabs it. i can see certain people just memorizing the spawns and hogging it all for their team pretty easily, giving less-skilled players fewer opportunities to use (and become proficient with) power weapons in crucible. i hope that doesn’t turn out to be the case.
did i ever tell you about the time ollie and i were in a patrol instance with that ‘my name is byf’ lad and we followed him around
a highlight of my destiny career
if you hold the button down, you get ward of dawn, otherwise you get the shield which you can throw into enemies or charge into them with, that’s a pretty versatile super.
Destiny 2 preload starts tomorrow on PS4, get your hard drive space cleared out
Out of the usual PS4 gang, I think one or two said they were gonna check it out? Probably fine if you want to do some story co-op or whatever but insufficient for raiding unless you wanna use guided games.
The delayed launch on PC does have the unfortunate side effect that PS4 people are probably gonna be sick of it by the time it’s out
i’ll pick up the pc version, it does look really fucking good but i’m definitely playing on ps4 with the existing sb clan so i guess it depends on how burned out i am by pc launch
Shortly following the release of The Taken King, we were one or two people short to do a raid and we jumped into Crucible. Someone noticed that one of the players had their full name as their handle, which is pretty rare. That person was LeslieChambers. They also happened to be carrying their team pretty hard.
