Looks like the Zone just became even more inclusive as these games are getting a Switch release in like, two days. I’ve only played CoP which is apparently the worst one so maybe I’ll pick up the original and get Zoned to the Bone
they are so bad at making trailers for this game that if i wasn’t already going to play stalker 2 i would not become interested in it
the new low tier bandit models look like shit. lol at the 2005 eastern european fps ass english voice acting though
Stalker 2 comes out tomorrow. Looking forward to pirating it because of the literal nazi azov battalion guys playing NPCs in it. Can’t wait to put huge SS lightning bolts on my sunrise suit. Thank you GSC Game World!!
the freaking DLC that gives you five guns and a seva suit in the very beginning of the game
Saddens me to report that every ladder in STALKER 2 has the accursed Yellow Gamer Paint.
The controls are horrible compared to the original, especially whatever’s going on with the mouse, but I’m not really far enough to say much else. It is kind of amazing they decided the animations for using everything from Anomaly were cool and should be even longer, but the Tarkov crowd will love it
Also this compiling shaders shit is such a chore and if that’s how UE5 games are gonna be then lol
Actually I do have something positive to say already: the first guy I ran into was a bandit named “Karenchyk Booba” who inexplicably showed up as friendly (the crosshair turned green) and then proceeded to throw a game crashing RGD-5 at me
oo you can turn off the yellow paint in the options
There are a bunch of really shitty things about stalker 2 that they might be able to fix if they really feel like it…
You can’t actually rebind some keys, trying to change the toggle sprint and walk keys doesn’t work and will just leave you stuck walking until you reload a save and fix your keybinds, you can’t rebind the detector key to O because you’ll bring out your detector and then when you try to put it away you’ll pull out your PDA, you can’t rebind Y to change ammo because it’s also more PDA bullshit, why do they let you try to change these hardcoded keybinds if you can’t, it’s just like kind of sloppy and sucks because the new control scheme isn’t super great compared to the original trilogy!
Whatever “a-life” system they have in this game has waaaay too low of a radius, squads love to spawn within like 25 feet of you or pop out of existence in front of you when they start getting too far away. It sucks because the AI is one of the most memorable things about the original game and unless it dramatically improves in a patch the illusion of stalkers having a life outside of your presence in this game will never recover. It’s operating on like Bethesda levels of random encounters right now.
It’s funny that they did in fact borrow ideas from mods for this game - the Anomaly item/backpack/PDA animations, the bloodsucker roar AOE attack is from NLC, the UI is very much like True Stalker…it’s weird. The engine swap already gives it odd vibes, but the mod-like qualities are definitely compounding it. Like a fan made sequel.
Also they got rid of the binoculars (unless you get them way later for some reason) which is fucking stupid cuz everyone you aim at in the distance just shows up as green (which no longer means friendly! despite three games conditioning you to think that!!) and it’s much harder to identify anyone who isn’t a bandit at a distance because many stalkers wear nearly indistinct green armor now.
This is one of those things that was fixed in the day one patch, which I think you might be missing
A-Life Director Spawning Issues: The A-LifeDirector scenarios were spawning too close to the player’s field of view, which could break immersion. This has been adjusted so that spawns occur outside the player’s immediate line of sight, making gameplay more seamless
can confirm at least in my game that I have yet to notice anything spawning in front of me or even anywhere close to me. I regularly hear gunbattles 100s of meters away, see stalker groups moving in the direction of the first town and later on when I return to town, find them there, etc. The A-life stuff is working as it should with the day 1 patch applied
I have the day one patch, I made sure to get it. You don’t have to tell me it’s my fault every time a game doesn’t work right
The way enemies spawn in this game even after the patch reminds me of Cyberpunk (pejorative)
I also miss the ambient dog behaviors. I haven’t seen a single mutant that isn’t trying to kill me yet. They also removed the ability to have mixed shotgun loads which is w/e I guess but would make a selling point out of the goofy ass DP-12 with two magazine tubes they put in the game which is otherwise overshadowed by the other shotguns
here i am jumping for joy at the caked up bloodsucker bussyyyyyy
his big ass much be why hes such a bullet sponge
i miss my binoculars but it feels like every animal is not an animal but an enemy in this so i wouldnt be using them as much anyway but still :(((
little monolith altar…
I wasn’t blaming you, there’s two day one patches and I think the fitgirl repack doesn’t include one of them
Anyway, the anomalous areas in this game are some real good shit. You can see the pond frogs getting sucked out of the water at Bulba into the center of the gravitional anomaly, and the way the cars around it deform is cool too.
i put all my loot in a safe at the end of the prologue and i got to keep everything except the big black gun i stole from an egghead so thats cool imma need all these medkits and bandages and breads
so far all my complaints, which im not about to get into til ive gotten further, are because its a modern game not because of anything else and i guess thats good
