Thatā€™s not been my experience at all

anyway with a vpn torrenting is now an excruciating month long ordeal for me, even when transmission isnā€™t constantly getting overloaded and crashing from all the torrents building up in the backlog because nobody seeds anything for long, so I canā€™t play this game yet

yeah nordvpn getting worse has been a big loss of security blanket, their new SOCKS proxies do still kind of work but you have to email them and complain to get access so you arenā€™t stuck using a systemwide VPN

I can see perfectly in my mind the moment 4 years ago when they were locking out their scope and they said, ā€˜letā€™s let you switch voice/bodyā€™ and patted themselves on the back because isnā€™t that better than what <games of 4 years ago> were like? And that ignorance of the hermetic, non-diverse culture of game studios.

The big studios have evolved into something that can only solve one problem for one audience and thatā€™s why theyā€™re paying this lady

to tell me what Gen Z thinks about intersectionality

because of the impossibility of old people creating culture for young people

oh good now weā€™re learning about Lil Nas

Being a Digital Native creates an inbred Compare-and-Despair cycle of anxiety

my brain is under attack~~~~

These look extremely similar to my workplaceā€™s recent presentation on GenZ for recruiting students, framing them as Gen Anxiety and characterising them almost exclusively by the fact that theyā€™re more numerous (higher birthrate around 18 years ago) and have mental health issues.

Wasnā€™t quite as bad as a few years back when we had a conference telling us about what millennials (i.e. me and some of my colleagues) want.

I secretly love these as a guilty pleasure. The complete lack of self-awareness is strangely reaffirming.

this reminds me of the time where nikaā€™s company hired a consultant to confirm that b-n sh-piro was a white supremacist

I would play a dystopian sci-fi game based on a nightmarish vision of the future world created by Generation Anxiety at the peak of their powers as imagined by marketing companies

the time I got all platinum rankings and all the grinds unlocked and collected all the clues in max payne 3 and could play through the hardest difficulty in my sleep was just like the time shia labeouf knocked his teeth out and carved up his face for the movie Fury. the world and role I got to play in it had to be compelling enough for me to go all the way like that. I have no interest in mechanics otherwise, Iā€™m just in this for getting to exist in a world. and I canā€™t really recall to mind any street corners or places in any of the assassinā€™s creed games Iā€™ve played but I can still remember specific bars in witcher 3 or the nondescript building in gta4 where I took some guy I kidnapped once.

to be more substantive, the ps4/xbone gen lasted a real long time, and the switch is very successful. i think those two things illustrate that the constant escalation of scope and production values is not exactly necessary. i know aaa bloat exists this generation too but i just feel like it would have been fine for everyone to just chill out for a few more years rather than continuing the death march to quadruple A
