If I can get home for holiday w family I probably won’t play much of it this year. Nice to know that they feel they’ve got an amazing game on their hands.

i have this feeling that this game is gonna dissapoint a whole lotta people who have convinced themselves the witcher 3 was the greatest game of all time and that this will be the next

or maybe it will be cool! i hope the people here looking forward to it enjoy it.

it is just not the flavor of cyberpunk i like. it doesn’t even look like cyberpunk, it looks like gta but the hookers have shiny robot parts now

Cyberpunk as a genre’s political credentials are exceedingly overblown anyhow. I just want to see how it balances the tension of open world with more immersion sim sensibilities.

please do not buy this if you care at all about workers in the industry. even if the stupid GTA humor transphobia doesn’t bother you (it should, and i’m judging you if it doesn’t!), people logging 100 hour weeks to make a fucking entertainment product they won’t see a cent in royalties for should repulse anyone who works for a living. just pirate it if you can’t go without playing it

Without disagreeing with anything you’re saying, my constant plea to remember that this is not exceptional in the least, big or small. Condemn the industry as a whole, condemn poor planning, condemn the lack of worker power.

Yeah look at this bullshit from last time they delayed the game:

“cannot participate on the home front”? fuck right off

them being polish makes this much, much funnier

What physical said. Don’t buy this.

The product and its development are both wrought with unethical exploitative trash.
If you really want a game that will likely contain heavy doses of sexism, racism, and transphobia in a boring uninspired cyberpunk game, pirate that shit.

Personally, I’m just not going to play it at all.

I wonder if this will be truly DRM free like their past games

Tbh it’s made me take a wait and see approach with more certainty. I have a platform to call them (and industry) out on the exploitation if that counts for anything. I am curious about the game in a way that I wasn’t for Rockstar and Ubisoft shit but tbh there’s enough games out there that I can choose an option that isn’t so transparently exploitative.

I’ll do like with Witcher 3 and buy some on sale discounted gold edition with all the dlc in 2 years is that good enough

gonna be way too busy with Yakuza 7 for this shite

always a reminder that pirating games on PC is easy and fun to do but i think i’m preaching to the choir here

this may come off like a snide remark, but i will be genuinely impressed if this game is not a total disappointment.

The other thing about this email is that it kinda sounds like people are crunching
in an office building
during the covid outbreak.

That seems bad. Like even more bad than just crunching.

My (completely speculative) guess: everybody’s home except for IT and maybe some folks doing mocap but some higher-ups who aren’t used to having rules enforced on them feel comfortable ignoring the rules they put on other people, because they’d rather take the privilege of getting out of the house

For everyone saying I’ll play Yakuza why do y’all think Sega Japan is any better about this?

I don’t know what I would search for to find out about Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios work culture.
