i had a post in an axe thread with links to an immense amount of great stuff on bandcamp (media you enjoyed in 2024, something like that), but it is long axed so, uh.

most people here know about my own music but i’ll throw a link just in case. this is a good starting place:
some albums i’d recommend/have been into recently:
Forgiveness is Yours by Fat White Family
Um by Martha Skye Murphy
Tombstone Piledriver by The Golden Age of Wrestling
Puddings by REZZETT
someone i know recommended this and it sounds cool, need to dig in more soon:
Euthanasia… Removed From Self by k-the-i???
someone on social media recommended this, what i heard sounds cool:
posted this elsewhere but i like the haunted celtic vibes:
Here are a few artists I’ve come across in the past year or so and have been listening to a lot.
This one is from Spain:
This one (Hi, Daphny) is from California but sounds like Italo Disco:
This one is from France and sometimes gets experimental/playful with varying degrees of subtlety (though this particular song isn’t one of the stranger ones):
happy to self promo with my most recent release which i think is the most coherent music i’ve put together:
and some other recommendations:
Nice to see this thread resurrected along with the free Friday.
One of mine from a while back
And some stuff I’ve been rocking out to recently:
I’d never heard of this group before you mentioned it here but I’ve listened to a lot of their stuff over the past week. Kind of makes me think of Madness with more electronics and a harder edge. I find some elements of their songs/personae somewhat off-putting (just as they intended) but there are some gems.
This catchy song with its Flying Circus homage video, for example (warning: extremely cartoonish violence).
I like this one, too.
this album came out today and is fucking incredible
@daphaknee you liked one of the singles. i think you will like the rest of the record too
edit:
Saw this duo yesterday at a small festival show. Good and interesting rock and the recordings are good too

This time around it looks like it will be mostly preorders for me, some combination of new albums by Ladytron, Madeline Goldstein, and SDH.
And maybe this one by iamamiwhoami (under a new name), which has both a Swedish version and an English version.
