That’s not even what she said happened based on what I read

how would you describe this then?

Ok then what I read described it as him touching himself during the massage.

But ya. At 95 he should have been in a home. Again it’s terrible but that is the human condition.

yeah, that’s what he did first, then what I said is how he responded to her telling him to stop

Look I get your viewpoint. I agree she’s a victim. It sucks but having spent a lot of nursing homes, and you can’t really blame a 95 year old for much. They aren’t really there.

Are you playing dumb or do you really not know about the decades Stan Lee spent presenting himself as the true mind behind Marvel Comics

Also not sure it’s very common to turn into a sex pest after you hit retirement age

tcj.com has plenty of editorials by historians and interviews with Lee’s collaborators and underlings that will shed light on all this stuff if you don’t know about it, really worth a look

who created the fantastic four? the incredible hulk? spiderman? doctor strange? and who gets credit for creating those characters, often sole credit?

Who spent decades marketing himself as the sole creator of those characters, up to and including defending marvel in court by claiming he was the primary creator of those characters?

If that isn’t stealing credit, I don’t know what is

Still trying to find Ditko’s essay on the creation of Spider-Man which is very long and thorough but did stumble upon this great excerpt from a Rolling Stone piece I haven’t read before

(They claim Ditko’s style was an example of “Decompression” and I strongly disagree with that but I like that bit up there, that’s reallly funny )

Thinking about this video

People talk about how it’s funny because Liefeld and Todd McFarlane suck or whatever (lol that the video is titled “Stan Lee owns”) but you have to admit it’s sort of sick behavior to meet with two guys you know really look up to you and then bully the fuck out of them. Like he really did have disdain for artists…

if you looked at a list of all of marvels editors in chief and called a random one of them a complete asshole wage stealing liar who’s full of shit you would literally be right way more than you would be wrong

I Love so much so how those two bros are sketching simultaneously on an art board and completely owning their style and thats what I imagined the actual Marvel ‘Bullpen’ being like

I had kind of classified Lee as a like a sort of giga-industrialist in the creativity world whose excesses were a side effect of his endeavors to mould Marvel into a mainstream success, into an aspect of the grammar of what America is and what it can/does speak about, to, and of.

I mean he was kind of an alpha for all that that entails both good and bad.

Don’t like how they scapegoated Ditko-revival Speedball in Civil War.

Really liking the new ONE manga “Bug Ego”. Eerie Indiana vibes.

A visit to the store just reminded me that post-Kentaro Miura Berserk isn’t just a theoretical thing: the first volume under the new set-up is out this week. While I’ve soured on the auteur theory of creative works, and can totally imagine somebody who is not Miura taking the story to interesting places while also being faithful to the spirit of the work, manga isn’t TV or film (given the production pacing, I don’t imagine Miura had the usual assistants), and trying to continue the story in this way still feels super-ill-advised. Has anybody heard anything of how it’s going along?

(Yes, I was still enjoying the story all the way until the end.)
