nvcontainer wouldn’t stop scanning a 6tb drive to where it had 100 percent usage and even trying to play a game off a different ssd drive it would be completely unplayable. I love this Nvidia Experience where every game stutters as it starts up while the nvidia overlay has to load in to every single thing now including the weather app and retroarch. this is not worth the convenient screenshotting ability which half the time would quit working until a reset anyway
they replaced my airpod pros for free which was nice
I felt like they’d degraded a bit but I’d also like, dropped them a few times, which doesn’t say “free recall” to me necessarily but what do I know
3/3 of my current apple stuff (2018 mbp, iphone x, airpod pros) have had battery replacements and I only paid for one of them to the tune of $75 despite never buying a warranty so that’s pretty good
Android 12’s UI changes are really throwing off my muscle memory
I’ve been curious about it, but I’m running a pixel 3s and I’m afraid it’s gonna be one of those “upgrade so your phone can run really slow now” kinda things
So far it hasn’t seemed to slow my Pixel 3 down at all. It’s been showing its age a little otherwise (which is fine, I got it in 2018) but yeah, it’s mostly just some new gestures messing with me. Dragging up from the search instead of up from the middle bottom to open the app list still gets me a little.
They moved the flashlight button and the airplane mode button (both of which I use with probably abnormal frequency) and that’s my main gripe. Also sometimes reading the new GIANT TIME on the lock screen fucks me up
You can edit where the shortcut buttons go on the swipe down notification thing. I did it to add back a shortcut to alarms since you can’t just tap the time on the top left anymore to access it. Use the pencil icon beside the power icon.
Updated and so far so nothing but
How dare you make the icons pop out of the container I put them in. I despise this.
I mean, I’ll get used to it, but god damn.
This was a solid PRO TIP thank you
Additionally that horrible bounce animation when hitting the end of a scroll or trying to scroll too far …

Bad
Anyway you can turn it off in accessibility > text and display > remove animations
im on a pixel xl and refuse to update my phone barely works right now
Alder lake seems cool
shame about the motherboard pricing
and DDR5 not being mature yet
and having to use Windows 11
at least AMD got spooked enough that I can get a 5800X for 300 bucks now
The single core perf on a 12900K is ~5% better than an M1, high five everyone
the best Alder Lake thing is they just let you run your new 12900K at 250W
just fuck efficiency, give me that extra 2% MT performance
ok which of you hardware psychos wants to accept shipment of my fat PS3 and fix the little motor that sucks in the discs
Likely going to root my Google pixel 3 and install custom firmware. Any recommendations?
I’m leaning towards LineageOS since I liked cyanogenmod uh…9 years ago, but I’m curious if anyone else has opinions.
a pal of mine was raving about calyx recently
this looks like a good option, wondering if Google’s Bullshit is part of what’s making my phone so unstable currently. i’m mentally working on a list of things that suddenly don’t work in Android 12 so I can complain about it lol
watching nervously and anxiously as Asus just gave all their A320 boards new BIOS updates to enable Zen 3 support
they wouldn’t be desperate enough to grandfather all of us idiot 3xx owners back into the fold, would they
