what kinda downforce does that thing have
Windows 10 HDR sometimes fucks up after closing a full-screen game making all the color settings super messed up, sometimes overly saturated or too dark. It’s like it doesn’t switch out of whatever adaptive mode it was in when it shifted to the game, makes everything totally wacked out until I turn off HDR and then turn it back on again. Why’s it gotta be like this?
Sometimes it’s even goofy and in need of retoggling when I first start windows too
same
I always thought it was handshaking between my TV and computer, but if you’re having it on other monitors, I’m happy to blame Microsoft and the compositor re-set
It’s real messed up that cable quality/length/spec matters for HDR/120hz/VR/Thunderbolt after ten years of serene rational apathy
I mean, 4K HDR 4:4:4 had been a nightmare for a few years already, but same difference
Actually we just discovered that the HDMI cable which came with my Elgato HD60 causes signal dropout issues with capturing our PowerBook with our newer capture card, and switching to a 4K HDR 4:4:4 capable cable fixes it. That machine is outputting 1080p at most… lmao
I preordered an Elegoo Saturn (monochrome SLA resin printer) expecting it to be forever weeks out but it’s arriving Saturday. The build volume is large enough I can print my custom dactyl case
resin printers seem to be available a lot cheaper than filament printers, at least according to the ads i’ve been getting. dyk any reason that might be?
so hype about yr dactyl! please post pics/let us know how it goes
A small resin printer has fewer moving parts because it’s only motorized along one axis and the display curing does the rest of the work.
But at least in the US buying Chinese printers the filament printers are less expensive - it’s about $130 for an Ender 3 and $200 for an Anycubic Photon. And the ~$200 resin options have much smaller print volumes.
was just doing some unscheduled maintenance on my old box and I somehow managed to wrench the USB3 plastic header off the board, right up off the pins, because the glue on it had weakened more over time than the plug clip had
put the plug back on the bare pins and it worked fine lol
fuckin hate the usb3 headers
I’m honestly just very impressed (and relieved) that it somehow came up off the pins cleanly and I didn’t lose any of them

proud to have put 5 bucks into my steam wallet and also a computer I won’t buy
I have reserved a 64gb model. Not sure if I’ll buy it either.
Yeah fuck it, I reserved one. I’m medium-interested
The m2 slot exists on the 64gb version, according to a few screenshots of emails with gabe I have seen
emailing gaben to ask what ifixit bit I’ll need
congrats to all the people who assumed this was the case and bet on the 64gb model
