Cartoons (Part 2)

properly watching legend of the galactic heroes for the first time and the depths of it’s relevance sure are depressing

watched the first episode of the elusive samurai’s adaptation. so good! if they can maintain this level of quality throughout the series, that would be amazing. the people making this really understand that the greatest joy is to linger on the protagonist as he frolicks and jumps around. they Get It.

even though it’s on crunchyroll im a bit bummed by the muted reactions on anglophone youtube – none of the react channels i follow have picked this show up, etc.

if you are a fan of “The Flintstones: On the Rocks” a version managed to escape that is not a decades old straight off tv vhsrip. it unfortunately still does have splices and skips in it

real talk to everyone, if you haven’t seen On the Rocks, it’s the ideal of all those fabled adult Flintstones projects tried and died trying to chase. it’s more early domestic sitcom Flintstones and less bullshit Saturday Morning Cartoon Flintstones

Despite not having read One Piece in over a decade and not having watched the anime, I went to a One Piece symphonic concert last night where they were playing orchestral arrangements of the anime soundtrack to scenes from the anime. I cannot stop thinking about this opening, which seems pretty recent. The direction, the animation, the amount of detail they put into imagery that lasts a few frames at a time- everything about this is absolutely mesmerizing.

this is just a fan animation of a vtuber conversation, but wow, i’ve never seen one that looks so much like a real cartoon before (specfically it reminds me a lot of downtown)

one of the shop children really liked blue eye samurai so i am giving it the time of day

a lot more penis than I expected

I liked it a lot, it’s not afraid to get 70’s kung fu movie wacky

thing i find amusing is that were this an actually japanese show it’d be way stiffer and melodramatic

It is tonally similar in a lot of ways to the Castlevania show which I’d also recommend

it’s not really as funny as that one, that had more Banter
decent enough for a Saturday afternoon of catsitting, drinking and eating a huge reuben though

They announced yesterday that the Mononoke film would be getting a sequel and today they said itll get another one. They should do this with more shows I like rather than ones I don’t.

Whoa I thought I was the only one who didn’t like mononoke despite how it should absolutely be my jam
