i’ve had this screenshot saved for a long time. i think i was rewatching this fairly recently but got distracted. i love sentaro and characters like him, it’s just my mo ( tough guy with a heart of gold / big bro character ) but like be ready for the ending. i think aspiring to be this cool is a lot to live up to but i still admire this dude anyway. he’s my kinda dreamy.

Dropping one episode a week.
Giving Chainsaw Man Part 1 a Chainsaw Man Part 1 was a funny joke, shows hit and miss as an adaptation but given it would needed a his and her circumstances approach to make any of it translate properly, I’ll take what we’ve got.
Nearly finished Lupin III Part II and some of the criticisms of the later series being too plot heavy and not character driven are rather funny given how a lot, and I mean a LOT of these episodes tread water for 20 minutes. Mostly fun but I’m glad the later seasons went in a different direction especially when there’s 150+ episodes of this (Knew a lot of the stranger crossover episodes going in like the columbo one but wasn’t expecting the rose of versailles one to be one of the best episodes of the whole show).
If it took them a half-dozen seasons or whatever to get through Part 1, I honestly wouldn’t mind. I appreciate the considered pacing, it adds to the groundedness, especially if they’re expanding on granular daily ritual stuff.

And honestly, cutting the series to date off with him and a feral child bonding over base, puerile but fully justified cruelty is a hell of a punchline and character endpoint on its own.

Pacing in the first episode of Trigun Stampede seems kind of rushed but worth it for how incredibly solid that CG animation looks in motion.

so it’s been one year
it was around this time I saw Belle in a movie house and I hated it
I hated it so much that I didn’t watch cartoon for all of 2022
and then the quints saved me
the Quints movie came out in Japan on my birthday, but it didn’t come over to the states until December and then I got to see the truncated version of the ending of a comic I already read. but it (and season 2 in general) were way better than season 1 and John Sword Art Online voicing the male lead asshole actually made the material better
I’m back. I can cartoon again. you can’t beat me Hosoda, no one can.
(Shinkai’s chair fucking movie will be the thing to defeat me)

Hey this Arcane show is pretty good. Between this and Castlevania I’m getting real impressed by these English language animes. I reject outright the idea that League of Legends has anything resembling “lore” and instead prefer to think someone wanted to make a Dishonored adaptation, which is cool with me.
