It’s exactly as lame as I hoped it would be.

There is one difference. I can believe a child might have seen Jurassic Park.

just like the original, it is basically made entirely to amuse steven spielberg

do you think it’ll still have the same Godfellas parody cartoon but with pigeons or will they update it to something like an outdated HBO series ref and call it like Coo Detective

i will probably check this out, even though they would’ve done better to remake Freakazoid instead

hey I’m watching bad cartoons en masse again because it’s new season time(ish), let’s talk trash

With a Dog AND Cat, Every Day is Fun - a show where every episode is a miunte-thirty and is solely about how dogs are stupid and lovable and cats are assholes

undoubtedly the best show of the season

That is the Bottleneck - an original thing directed by a guy normally doing live-action and a bunch of not-anime voice actors in the cast. it has a weird, middle-of-the-night adult swim vibe while also feeling very much naturalistic. also, a cartoon with someone who actually looks like me.

OneRoom s3 - no officer I swear I was holding it for a friend, you can’t send me to jail

TONIKAWA - I am trash man and I demand my seasonal sacrifice of trash romcom and I have been sated

Wandering Witch - I can’t quite put my finger on it but this show is either to going to be consistently legitimately great or it’s going to swerve into being something made for nerds by nerds every other week

I’m Standing on a Million Lives - hey what if we made Rising of the Shield Hero but worse

Osomatsu-san s3 - hi I’m one of those people who loved the first season and was very cold on the second and if the rest of the third season hits like the premiere episode did, then it just way the fuck back up in quality

Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! - okay look this is actually from last season and you probably know it as “the show with the smug titty monster” but hear me out I thought it was going to be dumb and one note and then I watched it and ended up liking it and well, as you can see from the above list, my tastes are suspect at best. I like this dumb show and her dumb smug face.

Is the Order a Rabbit BLOOM - mind empty, IQ rising, brain expanding

Time for the second dose

been enjoying Oishinbo which for some reason is being uploaded for free with English closed captions. Kind of a straightforward food procedural with a weird vibe like if Jughead Jones was the host of Kitchen Nightmares. Very comfy show and highly detailed food info. Definitely the most melodramatic food anime that falls within the realm of “realistic”.

there was a special a few years ago where real chefs tried making recipes from oishinbo and the recipes were all awful

Drove 90 minutes to a drive in to watch the 3DCG lupin movie. It’s very safe in several ways. Family friendly for the most part and a not very complicated plot but probably my favorite character acting I’ve seen the CG animation. They hit a good spot in being cartoony but feeling real in there environments. Dub by the pioneer crew so that’s good but I guess being 3D makes it much more difficult to lip sync for.

A nazi David Lynch tries to kill lupin and is very angry about it.

shiteatersubs are good, they do a lot of old rare stuff, sometimes they even sub original tv recordings with the adbreaks intact!

i’ve said this before, but i really wish netflix would license a tokusatsu property and then make some actual tokusatsu, or even just have some available on their service.
instead of just putting the name on cgi cartoons every time

I like how they buried in the Unicorn article that Sheep in the Big City creator Mo Willems is doing three shows

In with the old, in with the new.
