i guess ok k.o. is cancelled but they had enough advance warning to make the ending they wanted to
glad they get to make a complete narrative but it was my favorite kids show shit sucks

WHAT THE FUCK RRRGH
all the shows that appeal to me are dead or dying
Yeah, like, what is even gonna be on tv next year?
i finally just got caught up and loved the sonic crossover. what a huge bummer
always great to watch a cartoon where it’s obvious that the storyboard artists and voice actors and everyone else in production clearly loved the thing they were making
The Rocko’s Modern Life special on Netflix is up. I watched it. It was some good self aware nostalgia with a positive message for the young people. I want them to put the original show up on Netflix or somewhere.
It’s on VRV! I’ve been watching a little of it after seeing the special with very little context.
Your first time? It’s a treat. I watched it a lot when it was on.
I started watching Bojack Horseman because I heard the person behind Tuca and Bertie worked on it. I’m halfway through season 1 now and this show is not even a fourth as good as that one. But I hear it really picks up later… right? Someone reassure me before I quit on this thing.
Hanawalt really only did the visual design of Bojack whereas Tuca and Bertie was her baby
with that said, I would try getting through to the end of the first season and see if it starts clicking there, the first season is kind of scattershot in the early going and the thematic throughlines that have carried the series since start coming out in the last few episodes
the first half of the first season of bojack is terrible and the rest is almost all sublime
I found t&b unwatchable though so don’t take my word for it
the first time i tried to watch bojack horseman it didn’t really click either, but then i think i got more depressed and started watching it again and it worked
but yeah other than the humanoid animals thing it doesn’t really have anything in common with tuca & bertie. it i guess in a way has the same blend of absurdist visual gags and very raw emotional trauma, but on the whole it’s a lot darker and the protagonist is way less likable.
if you find it totally miserable to watch, it is helpful to remember that the actual sympathetic main character is diane, and the later seasons seem to recognize this more and more
the other thing about bojack that is admirable is that…there are so many movies and tv shows about “HOLLYWOOD” and LA and stuff, and by being totally surreal bojack somehow seems to be the most accurate of all of them
the other netflix series about terminally sad people in LA, “LOVE”, is also pretty good at this though
that’s a funny way of spelling “HOLLYWOO”
I finally sat down with Season 2 of Castlevania. I like that this exists as a concept and has enough reverence for the material but feels way to messy. Feels like they were planning for another 4 or 5 episodes but got told to stretch it out. Three episodes in the middle felt like a bunch of nothing. I think there could’ve been more to the Belmont Library (show more game nicknacks, let Trevor get some holy water and the cross boomerang) and the Vampire Game of Thrones was just there to chew time. Didn’t help that only two of them were voiced and the other vampire lords were just window dressing. It’s still a very pretty production but it just feels off when it gets to the action. Really good key frames and animation but something feels off with the timings of actions. Something between the actual direction or amount of Inbetweens.
It’s amazing how hyped I got at the idea of a He-Man reboot because of how good she-ra was.
And Netflix took my hopes, crumpled them into a ball, through it into a pile of dirt, spit on them, and laughed at me.
I’ll watch it if it’s extremely gay
I just found out about this and yikes I didn’t expect it to make me start sniffling uncontrollably
