Cartoons 3: The Animation

def AC5 vibes here, though that only makes sense if you know the lore of Razgriz :smirk: … just to pile on the already huge list of AC abbreviations.

(but to be fair, I also immediately think of Armo(u)red Core, before Ace Combat comes to mind)

I’m sure if I dug into the old livejournals I could find a good number of pro-ana playlists. I remember paper bag by fiona apple was on a lot of those playlists

started watching future boy conan, and of course it’s really good.

just as predictably, uk censors have designated this beloved children’s classic as being suitable for ages 12+

May I Ask for One Final Thing? or as I call it in my head “This fine lady wants to throw hands" is probably the most fun show of the season for me. Its another twist on the Villaness in an Otome show kind of thing but the main character solves all the problems of fantasy aristocratic qualms with old fashioned pugilism and a little extra sauce from time magic.

Its just a fun swap of otome trappings where I love watching her lay into the chosen villain and dealing with a snarky prince dragging out the tension of when they’ll either kiss or throw down. Its a classy kind of anime garbage. Delivers on its premise and plays above board. It has essentially revealed that our prospective arch villain is an otherworldler but that’s been set to a back burner so it’s not to tainted by isekai rot yet.

I ended up watching all of Ruri Rocks. it took me until they discovered an acre of opals (worth millions) to realise it was fantasy. I kind of miss it, as a idyllic tale about picking up cool rocks you find outside while hanging out with friends

the postgrad with gigantic boobs did mention an eccentric boulder in a later episode, so I withdraw (one of) my original complaints.

I remember checking out the manga a while back and despite the premise and the nice art, it somehow still managed to be bog standard, generic light novel/isekai storytelling. It was really surprising. Think the anime elevates that at all? I don’t know how the original light novel was.

Against my better judgement after enduring Gen V season 2, which was remarkably bad, I’ve decided to head forward into Hazbin Hotel season 2. I’m three eps in.

So far… not bad! Better than season 1.

Everyone’s still overdesigned and everything’s too frantic and there are way way too many characters, but, there’s some fun to be had here with the music and the voice acting.

Here’s the good songs so far:

been watching space ghost before bed. every random episode I find is radically different. Steve Allen in a musical episode. A clip show episode with the Mask interviews alongside an episode narrated by an old man. I have gotten unlucky with episodes that include Andy Dick and Hulk Hogan. Bad people make bad guests, can not imagine sitting down with Hulk and then having to make an episode out of it, hulk was trying to promote his show “Thunder in Paradise”. Not looking up episodes so I remain surprised. The show does make me laugh. Love that Zorak.
