fwiw when I got a switch last month I was able to do it for $200 (the going secondhand price minus the cost of reselling the dock and charger and using the USB-C stuff I already had) so I don’t think this is a great deal for the reduced functionality but still not bad
like honestly if i could get a regular switch for like 50 dollars more i would probably just say fuck it cuz im not sure about the smaller screen but also the colors are pretty so who can really say??

also theres a decent amount of games now that dont support handheld mode or have weird control things which sucks a lot for this thing too
would honestly be more interested in a… switch heavy i guess? a version of the switch that was not portable

I mean I basically use mine like the Wii U, I never take it out of the house and rarely plug it into the TV, but I do sit around the house with it as a handheld a bunch

It’s a lot lighter (.6 pounds instead of .9) and it has a real dpad, so it seems significantly better for the intended use.

They only force you to use the motion controls when docked though for whatever reason (maybe they really were planning ahead for this?) so you should be good there at least.
