Bloodstained: being a castlevania fan is a complex relationship

using dracula’s literal rib as a shield pleases me

This happens in the trailer even!

Is the lack of a horrible night because the borrowed sprites aren’t set up for palette swapping?

Surviving til day when you can get healed was such a key bit of tension!

Wonder if there is a just slightly streamlined Simon’s Quest hack out there. Time to look.

  • Emphasizes the mood of the scenes.
  • Makes the scenes more convincing regarding the way in which a light source at different times of the day would change colors in each scene.
  • Enhances perspective by separating planes by hue and by making more analog the colors considered belonging in the same distance plane -specially in backgrounds- while shifting hues and contrasting values in the the closer planes in order to give them a bit of air in between them

Hmmmph

“This hack is left almost untouched the world of the game, but added many new things, such as dialogs, new quests, difficulty and other. You need to think in order to complete the game. If you have something to say or ask any questions, please write to my youtube channel”

My parents were born in the 1950s, sequence broke that shit by making that impossible jump in the graveyard on the far east side of the map as seen here

And finished the damn game back when the Berlin Wall was still in place.

Everyone here can do it too.

Drac was a big’un in CV1 after all, Simon had to jump to reach his head. And since you kill him there in his man-bat form which is even chunkier it’s possible his remains stayed that way.

OP for GrimGuardians is out:

I love how the game is advertised in the west as a cool gothic Castlevania-esque game and then the OP hits and it’s completely an 00s Japanese PC visual novel game OP lol

I hope it gets an English dubbed OP, I love when that happens

Am I the only one that doesn’t like games where you swap out your character mid action? This, Cv3, BS:CotM, etc. It just feels so wrong

It’s like downing potions during a pause menu

but worse

I think the proper way to do it is to treat it like a tag system fighting game, just build it into attack chains and your health balancing

the way they do it in curse of the moon is better than in CV3 bc it’s so fast. I kind of enjoy in that context… it definitely drags cv3 down, although I’ve come around to other various merits of the game in recent years. I think it probably would be better if you had the option to switch between stages and when you die but were committed between those points

What about Dawn of Sorrow’s Julius Mode where you can tag between Julius, Yoko, and (I forget the last person)

Edit: OH DUH ALUCARD all funny stretched ratio from being ripped right from SOTN and plopped into a DS game

Yeah, the level design in DoS is the worst, especially the land of chaos or whatever. The pixel art is great and Julius mode is neat though.

shame they didn’t add Hammer to the Julius mode party

we could have had him crawling on walls like a gremlin, but no they chose Grant erasure (cowards)
