i’ve been playing tryhard meta destiny for two years, so uh, that all sounds good
are all the unlocks and microtransactions just cosmetics?
you can play both
the short answer to that is yes.
I place like 1950 in season 3. It’s kind of BS because I got disconnected from one game at a crucial moment. I won more of my 10 games than my friend did and he still placed higher than me. I was fuming!
Blizzard thought too many people were being placed in gold so they’ve knocked a bunch of people down a peg in season 3. I ended season 2 in the 1900s, went 6W4L in placements, and wound up 1668. Curious to see how rough the climb back up is gonna be.
A lot of what I’m seeing from streamers indicates that the system is probably using your season 2 skill rating (or, in lieu of, quickplay MMR) as a starting point and then throwing you about based on your performance
I kinda fell in line with this thinking. My season 2 placement was mid-2800s, ended at ~3200. Went 5-2-3 on season 3 placements and ended up at 3441.
Do you ever play competitive solo or usually in groups?
Solo queue only
being willing to be a dirty support player helps get past doing solo queue
I’ve got a regular crew I play competitive with but generally I find solo queuing to be easier since the matchmaking algorithm doesn’t put you up against groups as much.
Really? This is news to me. Though it kind of makes sense. I feel like when I am solo queued I can almost accidentally win. Group queue involves communication and coordination and it’s still a struggle.
I am pretty solid with Zenyatta, Ana, and Symmetra for supports. I felt like I was a really good niche Symmetra player, but with the new update she’s getting, they’re taking her away from me.
I have not really been keeping up with overwatch news. What are they doing to symmetra?
They are giving here a second ult, extending the reach of her primary weapon, and instead of the ability to give each other hero a small shield she will now create small barrier walls.
To elaborate, when she gets her ult, you can either deploy the teleporter like usual, or you can hit the button again to instead deploy a shield generator. This will give all your allies within a good range extra shields regardless of line-of-sight, until the enemy can find and destroy your generator. She also starts with all six turrets banked and can hold up to six at once; instead of putting shields on your teammates, instead her secondary ability creates a big barrier like Rein’s, but hers travels independently of her body: she launches it and it moves forward regardless of where she goes.
All you need to know is that the changes make Symmetra into Urien
I ranked up to gold tonight. You guys were right, solo queue was the way to go.
don’t que with me. I drag down scores and moral…
WHO WANTS TO PLAY?
Who are you good with?
sooo yeah i actually love playing symmetra now
I think I was actually better with her before, unfortunately… I’m usually the anchor around my team’s neck, but with her previous shields I could at least continue that much before spending four minutes lost in an alley somewhere behind the attackers’ spawn.
I think I’m gonna bite the bullet and buy this since I wound up loving the other two 2016 shooters whose PS4 demos I was not crazy about (Doom and Titanfall 2) after I got them on PC
