Oh, hey, apparently the fandom has moved on from Zarya being a dude to now being a lesbian, because muscles and pink hair and not designed to traditionaly gamer standards of women clearly is a comment on her sexuality, even though there’s nothing in game talking about that, and not that it would matter if she was, but it’s so funny watching gamers deal with this character.
It looks like they took out the ‘score’ statistic attached to accounts for some archaic reason, so I’ll never be a top 100 Roadhog!
Buuuuuuuut they put in competitive mode which should be a better overall indicator of skill.
Buuuuuuuut the system is bugged to hell right now where some of the maps are only giving ~8% of the credit of other maps.
Also the competitive mode isn’t available to consoles yet.

Well, it was either release it now or artificially delay the PC release while they wait for the Sony/MS approval process, which is not Blizzard’s fault?
Man, is the 10% thing a bug? I figured there was some wacky math involved where matches that go longer give less rank because reasons. I played a bunch on the PTR and the gain/loss was never consistent from game to game, even on same maps, so I figured there was some voodoo going on.
Of course, if they came out an explained what was going on and how placements are determined or whatnot, this wouldn’t be a problem. Or they could use ELO, but who wants that.
There is supposed to be a weight behind winning different maps. Some maps are easier/quicker to win than others, Blizzard has the stats at hand, and they said they’d weight each map accordingly. The current weighting was bugged, however, because King of the Hill maps were literally giving about 10% or less of what other maps were giving.
They came out and said they fixed it though, so we’ll see what happens over the next day or so.
Custom games are pretty great.

Hell, I’m only level 13… It’ll be forever until I can try out competitive mode.
Level 14. I don’t know if I actually like this game or if I’m just playing to gain levels and understanding of the game/characters. Or because I spent money on it. I dunno… I think I need to play in a team but I’m too socially inept to either create or join one
eh learning is the fun and will make you better.
But god do some people suck. I just got yelled at for being a useless junkrat (after we won) for not getting kills I guess. Knocking people off the point, and making one entry point a god damn nightmare so the rest of the team could focus on the other one the enemy was pouring out of… not good enough I guess? also getting 3 kills at the very end, not good enough.
GET THAT K/D bruh.
It’s so annoying they made a game about intangible advantages then don’t reward you for not just getting kills, or soaking up damage.
Also I feel like competitive is bored to all hell. People don’t get to finish games. Matches will end randomly. IDK.

I’ve had mixed experiences in competitive. Some good teams, but then my last match, my team decided that me being D. Va was a problem, which was funny since I had gold in every possible category for D. Va. It was…frustrating.

I keep not playing this game but I was at my friend’s place and he had the CONSOLE version and I haven’t played an FPS on a console in an eternity but we were like lets try it and I felt like I couldn’t do anything at all but he was low level with presumably the trash mmr that entails and so I dumped everyone anyway and that felt good
so what I’m saying is I’m a scrub

Yes, my location is set to the US of A and when I play on the Americas region I can see the American friends and when I play on Europe I can’t. So stuff is working.
