Being the number 1 fan of something no one cares about

Regardless of if it’s actually the case or not what are some games that you feel like you’re the only shooter for. Not necessarily a call for hidden gems. These are games you’ll take any opportunity to foist onto others and feel like no one ever brings up.

here’s a few of mine:

Steamworld Heist:

Steamworld isn’t like a super obscure franchise, but I haven’t met that many people who are as into this particular entry as I am. It’s probably the best strategy RPG I’ll ever play and I can’t recommend it enough.

Yellow Taxi goes Vroom:

Very much a recent one for me, but this game slaps so hard. One of the most satisfying 3D platformers I’ve played in quite a long time. It might just be too newish to see that many people talking about it, but I don’t see much word of it. It’s from the same people that did CloverPit if you know that game.

Summon Night: Swordcraft Story:

A fantastic action RPG for the GBA with lots of variety on repeat playthroughs. I’ve always wondered what the normal non-spinoff Summon Night games are like. Last I recall basically none of those came to the states.

This used to be DRAGON VIEW but I believe @daphaknee and I have by this point cultivated a small and powerful Dragon View cult here on the only good videogame message board, selectbutton dot net

the main reason i know Steamworld Heist is because the soundtrack is by that Steampunk band who do barbershop harmonies and are dressed like robots that an old roommate used to force me to watch videos from. bad times all around. Dragon View is a really nice looking game, always wanted to check out

i’m kind of an ironic fan of Soul Axiom/Soul Axiom Rebooted but still probably its biggest fan lol

i’m not sure if i’m the biggest Iggy’s Reckin Balls fan there is but i’m up there

One I’ve managed to talk one or two people into here is FUTURE COP LAPD, which I will always recommend as the best couch coop game on the PSX

I can’t remember if anyone shares my irrational passion for Travis Strikes Again.

Cursed Mountain is probably a big one for me Cursed Mountain Revisited (Captain's Blog)

I think I’d go to bat for several (probably) mediocre shooters like Killzone 2, Crysis 2, or Warhawk.

This thread fuckin rocks btw required reading

I guess if it’s “games you like enough to write big posting-alone threads about that no one else plays” I have to include Troy Total War

I’d say for the most part Suda heads are on board with this

I absolutely loved playing Ring Fit it’s such a cool game. I unfortunately never finished it cause my setup wound up having to be changed that meant I didn’t have enough space for it anymore

The sequel is also excellent. I know not everyone appreciated how and how much they expanded the mechanics, but I liked what they did.

Oh I actually prefer the sequel, but I just referred to the first here as to encourage starting with it. I’m really into Steamworld as a whole

I used to exclusively play this on the train to and from grad school, and when I dropped out I stopped playing it.

It was cool! I just lost my place in it.
