BATTLETECH

Developed by Harebrained Schemes, the studio responsible for the critically acclaimed Shadowrun Returns series, BATTLETECH is the next generation of turn-based tactical ‘Mech combat. In BATTLETECH, you play as the commander of a mercenary company on the edges of civilized space, negotiating and executing a variety of combat contracts while attempting to keep your ‘Mechwarriors happy and your operations prosperous. The game’s story features the player falling in with the deposed ruler of a noble house and, fighting for either coin or cause, becoming a player in her bid to retake her throne. BATTLETECH will be available for PC and Mac, at a suggested retail price of $39.99. Linux will be added post-launch.

Honestly I am just thirsty as hell for new Battletech. Playing Mechwarrior 3 multi online over 56k might have been my defining online gaming moment. It’s tied with Descent 3.

Y’all ever tried to get Mech Commander and shit running these days? It’s like playing the fucking lottery.

I remember all three of those gamez and they were hot fire. Maybe Battletech is going to get me back into giant robots

It’s totally fine if you don’t take for granted that you can run them directly under modern Windows, which is something that no other platform would even suggest you try at a distance of 20 years

Anyway I’m excited for this too!

So I’m watching a let’s play of this and in character creation you can pick your personal pronoun as he, she or they. I thought that was pretty nice

Of course, there’s already people complaining that adding this pronoun feature is “taking time out from developing more important features”

Shaking my head

So this let’s play I’m watching has left me a little bit confused. At first I thought the gameplay was very slow and tedious. Now I’m more into it though. Also, the story is really mature and interesting. It’s nothing groundbreaking if you just recap it but the way it’s told is really something. It’s just some good text, you know what I mean. Good characters. Nice little character building twists here and there. A lot of deep lore. It’s quite fascinating. So after all, I’m still looking forward to April 24th!

yeah Andrew can absolutely write, my dude carried the Shadowrun projects

like for example Glory’s personal quest in Dragonfall director’s cut could’ve easily been too maudlin but it nailed the landing

That reminds me. I bought Shadowrun on android and never played it. Time to get rid of that trash PUBG mobile and install it again. This time I’ll play it

Neo Shadowrun’s writing never impressed me and it’s weird how much everyone here reps for it, even the unsatisfiable @Tulpa

It’s shadowrun, cuba. Get hype

you played before the directors cut right? The stuff they added was really solid across the board

Dragonfall had good non-obvious but non-frustrating choices and consequences…
