also, the prose was solid, the characters were fun, the game had a functional narrative thrust while being quite playable, the systems were interesting enough, etc. it was so fundamentally well-made that it reinforced how few CRPGs are that effortlessly recommendable
yeah dragonfall is some good shit
will be keeping an eye on this thread
Was there some other more boring one before Dragonfall
Is Dragonfall the one that ends in a basement with a huge dragon that you kill or talk to or something
yes and yes
Obviously it left a huge impression
brb setting up a shadowrun campaign for cuba that ends in a basement with a dragon
Waaaaaait are pnp campaigns not always supposed to end in a basement with a dragon? Fuck
I’ve been wondering if there’ve been any good modules for Shadowrun Returns and this is a name that keeps coming up; a series of three interlinked storylines playable across Dragonfall and Hong Kong.
Antumbra Saga
The Caldecott Caper
CalFree in Chains
Hong Kong is definitely quality in itself but Dragonfall is the one I revisit the most.
oh whoa, awesome
Have you checked the hold of your Spelljammerish ship recently?
there’s a dragon in it
My kingdom for a Shadowrun campaign that doesn’t end with a dragon or insect spirits
shadowrun on the genesis doesn’t end with a dragon I don’t think
Play Hong Kong.
Talking my way through the ending of Hong Kong after fucking up and having to punch everyone in every other mission was one of the more satisfying things in a RPG. Got it where it counts
Kinda hoping BT’s campaign ends with dragons though, or at least has them somewhere along the way.
Giant bugs would work for that matter, or just some good ol’ dinosaurs.
Oh yeah I forgot to mention, the music really sprung out at me and impressed me at times. Especially in a certain cutscenes not that far in the game that I won’t spoil.
A dragon shows up to help you in the last fight
So clooooose
