how is nikki not up for anything pfft. ridiculous that dawntrail got nominated even though all the devs have been talking about is how to make it better and nikki didnt even though its THE BEST EVER

I love Dawntrail—it’s among my favorite XIV expansions—but by no means does it deserve nomination, unless perhaps we’re talking about an award for “best halting grasp toward improvements in a long-standing formula,” which I don’t think is quite the spirit this award should embody

I know this shouldn’t bother me, I know all these award shows are just because they want to have an expensive party with executives from specific companies, but

The Golden Joystick awards, another allegedly prestigious award for games, announced their 2025 winners, which includes a “Best Game Trailer” category that they gave to GTA6. The GTA6 trailer shows, at best, 3 shots of gameplay lasting half a second each. Meanwhile Ananta has put out multiple trailers this year which a) are also fake as fuck, but b) do include footage of the actual game (it’s another arena brawler) that you will actually be able to play. But it has a giant robot and a girl with rabbit ears, and I guess you’re not allowed to give games like that awards.
