I looked for Oh Deer and it wasn’t in the PSN store, I’m guess Tuffy isn’t either. Were they Playstation Mobile games, forever lost to the wind?
Yep. I think they’re trying to port Oh, Deer but there’s no way to get them unless you bought them from PSM and went through their shutdown procedure.
Please, tell me there’s people ensuring that PSM games such as these are going to be preserved
If by preserved you mean emulated, I don’t know of any efforts. Hopefully ports come down the line.
I mean preserved, in the full scope of the term. Ensuring there are long-lived archives of these games, etc.
Obviously emulation would be a great first step. Until that is possible, making sure the files aren’t lost to the ether would be nice.
I chatted with my brother about this and I think we can start the playstation mobile preservation society later this week. I don’t know of a way to spoof licenses (so you won’t be able to play them) but we can get the game files off of a vita.
I only have six PSM games but they’re probably the ones most of interest to y’all.
I’ve got the FTP connection to my Vita’s root, but I’m having a devil of a time figuring out which directories are what. There’s a few that have a file called “psm_manual_plugin.rco” which may indicate it’s PSM, but they’re stored as eboots. It would be p. funny if PSM games could run in a PSP emulator all along.
Also @km the version of henkaku I have installed has spoofing for 3.63. The only question is whether it’s dangerous to expose it to Sony’s servers.
